Old dirty hotel, which needs a complete overhaul

Extremely poorly maintained facility. As soon as we checked in i requested for the room to be changed as the room i was allocated was dirty. The walls had thick black mould and toilets were disgusting. The towels and pillow cases were probably cleaned but looked very old and stained. Surely they need replacement. The walls of the room are not sound insulated and every little and loud sound from outside can be heard making it very difficult to sleep. On the first morning there was no water and after 30 mins 2 buckets of water were provided. On the 5th day there was no light, while other places around all had light. Also if you eat or drink a tea/coffee which is charged ensure to take a receipt. I had 3 coffees, one on each morning and paid right away however before checkout i was told that i didn't pay for 2. In the end after much discussion it became you did not pay for 1. Finally i refused to pay any extra. If i had not paid for the hotel completely in advance i would have moved out after the first night. Although i did not dine at this place, while having a conversation with some other guests i was told that the food was pretty good. The menu did look extensive. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until the place has been renovated.

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Lovely and great first impression of hotel. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay.

We didn’t like it at all. The owner was non cooperative and charged for everything from water bottle to lemon. The rooms though are expensive, didn’t meet the need as there was foul smell. You cqn get very good hotels at this cost. Dont make your dharamshala experience bad because of this property. We will not recommend at all.

You mentioned in your feedback that owner did not cooperate, May I know what we did not cooperate with you? You reserved room on 3rd Oct. 2023 & you came to our hotel 1 day prior to your check in time, so that day we did not have rooms available, the same we informed you at our reception (Is this the thing which owner did not cooperate with you) at last you mentioned some charge of Lemon, you ordered Fresh Lime water (which is chargeable & the same is mentioned in our menu which was there in your room. We liked our stay at their hotel. Pros: - good location, near the market - friendly and professional staff - clean-looking rooms - large-sized bathrooms (mentioning since that's a rarity in hotels, especially mountain-side ones) cons: - hygiene can be improved. While the rooms look clean, these are not really clean. - had to ask for soaps and a dental kit

I am very much satisfied with my stay at varuni. The staff, the rooms, the vibe everything was great. And most importantly, the owner, shekhar bhai. He is gem of a person. I would highly recommend to all who are. Seeking comfortable stay within a budget.
