If you are looking for a royal feeling in the almost in the lap of Lake Pichola then this is where you should stay. This lane has the coziest cafes to rest is to the boutique shops you may love to explore during your stay hence even when you are not visiting the palaces and want to just chill you have ample options. Coming to the Hotel, the place is highly maintained and the one man army who takes care of this property is Jassu. He is a person who can come to any of your help and is very handy. Though the place does not have a kitchen though it gives you both India and continental options to pick you in breakfast. Hence overall this place is highly recommendable.

Udaipur stay in hotel Raj Niwas

This hotel is located in old Udaipur area, by the side of Lake Pichola, Lal ghat. We stayed 3 nights with no issue. Just opposite one restaurant Rainbow, where food was good and we enjoyed rooftop dinner. Location was very good. Jagdish temple, City palace. All within walking distance.
The room was queen type. Huge in size. Uniquely decorated. A feel of staying in a have is. This probably you won't get in any hotels. Superbly clean and well maintained by Jassu, the one-man army.

Wonderful experience

The stay at Hotel Raj Niwas was a wonderful experience. I wished we were staying for a bit longer. The one man army, Jassu took care of everything from picking up the luggage, checking in and a lovely breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the Pichola lake. The decor is very ethnic but done very tastefully.

A wonderful experience

Though our stay was very short but we have left with excellent memories. Well appointed, clean and tastefully decorated spacious rooms. The views of the lake from the king suite and breakfast area are lovely. The caretaker is a one man army. His knowledge, helpful attitude and resourcefulness is admirable. He is one big reason for the success of this property.

Part of the lake is obstructed by nearby building from kings suit, no lift but the hotel guy carried luggage for us. They don't have their own restaurant but many food options nearby.

familyPerfect room with traditional interior. Room size is big and the best part it is beside lake pichola. Boat hiring point is also there so you don't need to move any where else if you came for a relaxed trip. All tourist attraction are near by. The only thing you need to be aware that it doesn't provide room service for dinner and tea. But you will find so many restaurants and food point near by that it didn't matter to us. Great location, bad facilities

Location was good. But it was just a building with 3 rooms. No breakfast at that place we have to go to another building. Little far away for breakfast and no other facilities was available at that building.

coupleRaj niwas - the maharani suite is at the ground floor. It's a huge beautifully decorated room which is very clean and tidy. The care taker Jasda is very helpful and punctual. He makes sure that you don't feel uncomfortable. However, there is no arrangement of drinking water or power backup if there is an electricity failure. The owner should make sure to provide the basic necessities for the guests.
