Very bad
The photos are showing on Make My Trip are very different from actual and camp are very dirty and in poor condition. No hot water provided for Bath & DRINK NO any facility in Camp BAD FOOD QUALITY POOR FACILITY IN CAMP LIKE BED, BLANKET AND OTHERS
A big mistake to stay here !!
Had got one of my friend to show around Mussoorie. The weather was just perfect and we drove till Camp Calista. The tents were stinky, the washrooms were attached to the tent and the tent would just stink if you use the washroom. The service was just okay. The o Ly good thing that happened was that they arranged for campfire and music system. It was freezing cold and the blankets were just not enough for us. The place is expensive to stay! I paid around 1800 buks and it was a waste.
Never deal with MMT as it lacks professionalism
I had got two rooms booked in Camp Calista for 6. 9. 2017. There was no proper passage to reach the camp by senior citizen. The tents were stenching. No facility for warm water. We did not check in as it was absolutely impossible to reach up-to camp. No facility for snacks let alone meal etc. This place is about 2 -3 miles away from main Dhaaulti. In all, I feel that I have been fleeced by Makemytrip and will never deal with it in future.
Good location and nice food
First of all you will never be able to find this camp because they call it 'Camp Dhanaulti Magic' and not 'Camp Calista' so keep an eye for the sign-boards that say 'Camp Dhanaulti Magic'. It is 2km before Dhanaulti town. They basically have two types of Camp by these two names. Camp Calista is at a lower level and hence the views from there are not so great. Also the huts are not so great. They are smaller and darker. We opted for 'Camp Dhanaulti Magic' by paying Rs 500 extra to the caretaker. So basically my review is for Camp Dhanaulti which is basically just one up level of Calista. The view from here are breathtaking, you can enjoy the magnificent view of snow laden Himalayan ranges. Food and hospitality is good. Hot water is available on request. You can ask for a private bonfire for no extra cost. Power cuts are common but then for an experience like this, they can be conveniently ignored. Nights are cold and windy so carry enough woolens. Though they are kind enough to offer you extra quilts and blankets but the bed linens and blankets are not really clean. It seemed like they have not been washed for a long time. If possible carry your own blanket. Also, stay here only if you are taking your own car as you will not get any vehicle from here. Although if you can walk 2-3km you can reach the main town while enjoying the scenery. Overall a decent place to stay.
The View
The tent room was great ... We had a great time ... The location was picturesque ... A clear view of Yamnotri Peak was the icing on the cake ... A clear sky will enable you to see a full Himalayan range covered with snow.
Location
Great experience! If you are a nature lover its a must! The view of the mighty himalayas is breathtaking from your tent ... The food is great !! Amazing borne fire. Do not go for any other camps in dhanaulti .. This is the place to be ...
Peaceful & great value for money
The facilities were good and cost effective. Great location and really friendly staff & good service. The rooms were clean and tidy. The camp site are very orderly placed so that we can get a good view of the surroundings. A good place to simply relax & unwind. We travelled with family. Overall a very good peaceful ambience.
Nice place to chill & relax
Very quite and serene place. Very nice view from the camp, full of apple trees and all. Awesome experience... Nice place to chill, relax and feel the silence of hills... A must visit camp if you go to Dhanaulti.
Nice view and good place to relax
I travelled a few days back and had a short stay at Camp Calista. The view from the lawn outside the camps was awesome. It gives you a panoramic view of Himalayas ranging from sunrise to sunset. The staff was courteous and helpful. The two drawbacks I could witness are: 1. The staff at camp do not get direct email from makemytrip about the stay, instead it is directed to the owner of the camp sitting somewhere else. The communication gap wastes about half hour. The person who is face of the camp should have prior information of all guests. 2. Due to fast breeze blowing, most of the time our camp's curtain was torn and we had to keep our baggage at that place to save us from chill air. Overall we had good time and we prefer to stay again in the camp whenever we revisit Dhanolti in future.
It was bad, attitude of the guy managing
Did not want to even give one star, but it was not letting me submit the review hence had to give one star. It was pathetic, specially the attitude of the guy managing the customers, very abusive, and very arrogant. Started getting insecure for the trips from MakeMyTrip, Very very very disgusting experience. I am planning to file a police complaint against them.
