Package Itinerary

Day 1 DAY 1: SAT. Arrival in Madrid | Overnight in Madrid

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Evening transport to the Gran Vía district

Welcome to Madrid! The capital city of Spain, it is the third largest city in the European Union. While possessing a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighbourhoods and streets. Upon your arrival at the airport, get a transfer to the hotel, where a guide would be waiting to greet you; he/she shall provide you with all the necessary information about this exciting trip.

Towards the end of the day, get transfers to the attractions like Egyptian Debod temple, Plaza de España and Gran Via. The Egyptian temple of Debod is an actual ancient temple from Egypt that was transferred block after block to downtown Madrid after 1968. The temple was originally saved from the rising waters of the Lake Nasser in southern Egypt when a dam was built in the nearby area.
Plaza de España is located at a walking distance from the temple. A large town square, this place is a popular tourist destination from where important monuments and buildings are accessible quite easily. Walk a little ahead and reach Gran Via, an upscale and vibrant shopping street. Known as the street that never sleeps, it has the most nightlife in entire Europe. Here, you could dine at your preferred restaurant: Indian, Chinese, Spanish and Middle Eastern being some of the options.

Day 2 DAY 2: SUN. Madrid City Tour | Overnight in Madrid

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Madrid city tour | Visit to the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas bullring | A stroll through the Retiro Park

Wake up to a beautiful morning on this exciting Spanish vacation and head for a sumptuous breakfast buffet. After this, head for a guided city tour to know the city through its many attractions. Visit the vibrant centre/square in Madrid known as the Plaza Mayor (Main Square). This grand arcaded square features a beautiful uniform architecture with lush avenues and fountains. Now, head to Plaza de Toros de las Ventas (tickets included), a popular bullring building with a seating capacity of around 25,000 people.

After such a fun and exciting rendezvous with history and the culture of the city, take a walking tour of the beautiful Retiro Park, one of the largest of its kind in Madrid. This park used to be under the rule of the Spanish monarchy until later it got converted into a public space. This experience is sure to get enhanced with a stunning view of the lake and the Crystal Palace, a beautiful glass and metal structure situated inside the park.

If you wish to explore more, there is an optional visit to the Royal Palace, the official residence of the Spanish royal family. At sunset, get a transfer to the Plaza de Oriente in the historic centre of Madrid, located opposite the Royal Palace. Here, there are many restaurants with a variety of cuisines to offer, namely Indian, Middle Eastern, Spanish and other international options. After a fun day full of excitement, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight’s stay.

Day 3 DAY 3: MON. Madrid - Granada | Overnight in Granada

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Entrance and local guide in the Alhambra | Evening transfer

Early in the morning, leave for Granada (if the group of English-speaking travellers is fewer than 10, they would share the trip to Granada with the Spanish-speaking passengers). Travel towards the south across La Mancha, stopping in Puerto Lápice, a ‘manchego’ (a type of cheese unique to La mancha) village that evokes the figure of Don Quixote, the valorous and witty knight from a Spanish novel. Entering Andalusia via Despeñaperros, arrive at Granada, a bumbling city in southern Spain located at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

In the afternoon, visit the Alhambra Palace (tickets included), a palace and fortress complex that pays a heartfelt tribute to the Moorish culture. Both the fort and the palace uses a fine blend of the medieval architectural designs to create a masterpiece that has been accredited in the list of the World Heritage sites. Here, a local guide would accompany you to provide all the tiny as well as important bits of information about this place.

Later, get an evening transfer to the Plaza de Gracia in Granada’s city centre. Here, the culture of this gorgeous city seems to amalgamate into a plethora of delectable cuisine options like Chinese, Latin, Spanish, International, etc. After such a fun evening, you would be given an option to attend the Flamenco dance show, a dance art form indigenous to the beautiful country of Spain. Also, there would also be an option to visit the traditional neighbourhood of Sacramonte.

Please Note: At the Alhambra complex, the Nazari palace allows only a limited number of people inside at a time. In the highly improbable case of not being able to visit this area of the Alhambra, a visit to the Alcázares would be included in Seville (a place having a similar architecture and features).

Day 4 DAY 4: TUE. Granada - Malaga - Marbella - Ronda - Seville | Overnight in Seville

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Get to see the beautiful Andalusian village of Ronda

Today morning, leave Granada and travel to Costa del Sol, a beautiful region in southern Spain. Reach Malaga, a city in this region rich in history and culture of Spain. Upon your arrival, go for a stroll at the city’s historic centre visiting its cathedral and the Picasso Museum. This well-maintained museum is dedicated to the life of the world-famous artist Pablo Picasso, who was born in the city of Malaga. There are about 285 works by the painter-artist in the museum, all contributed by his family.

Post this visit, continue on your journey along the coastal motorway absorbing the mesmerizing views of the Mediterranean waters.  Visit Puerto Banus on your way, a picturesque marina located southwest of Marbella on Costa de Sol. After this, you would have some time for lunch.

In the afternoon, continue towards the hills and the many amazing sceneries of this gorgeous country and arrive at Ronda. This cute little town all painted in white is situated atop a mountain above a deep gorge in the city of Malaga and is known to be the oldest of its kind in Spain. Having romanced the air and sceneries of this culturally and visually enriched place, continue towards Seville. Arrive at the end of the afternoon in this capital city of southern Spain’s Andalusia region. The things which make this place famous are its flamenco dancing and a rich historical background.

Day 5 DAY 5: WED. Seville City Tour | Overnight in Seville

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Guided visit with local expert in Seville | Night transfer to the historic city centre

After breakfast, take a scenic city tour of Seville including the sites such as the Seville Cathedral and its famous Giralda. The structure is in fact the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world. A local expert would be present to guide you through this visit, which also includes places like the banks of the Guadalquivir River, popular neighbourhoods in the Santa Cruz area and Triana and the beautiful Plaza de España.

Please Note: If the group has fewer than 15 travellers, there is a possibility of the visit to be arranged in both Spanish and English.

After this, you would get some leisure time. At the end of the afternoon, get a transfer to the historic city centre area at Calle Alfonso XII. Here, you could try food from a plethora of different restaurants offering cuisines like Indian, Chinese, Spanish and International.

Day 6 DAY 6: THU. Sevilla - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid

TODAY’S HIGHLIGHTS: Visit to Mosque of Cordoba |Windmills in Consuegra

On the last day of this trip, leave Seville and proceed towards Cordoba passing along the valley of Guadalquivir. Cordoba is a city located in southern Andalusia, which was a major Islamic centre during the Middle Ages. You would get some free time to explore the city as per you like. Then, a local guide would accompany you on your visit to La Mezquita, an immense mosque that later got converted into a Catholic church. Its architecture exhibits older Byzantine mosaics which are a treat to anyone’s eyes.  After lunch, head to the Castilian lands and take a stop at Consuegra, where there are many giant windmills and a castle that has many stories to tell from the town’s rich history.
