Food was good especially if you are a non-vegetarian. Junior staff were prompt at service. Door Locks not proper. No keys for door locks. Manual door lock is available. Curtains are stained. Rooms are small. Room was stinky. No AC till 9 pm (Don't know why?). Spotted big rat playing around. No dinning facility inside room as dinner outside deck area is difficult due to insects and mosquitoes when the boat is at the dock. Cleanliness issues as spotted spiders and webs. Lizards all over when at the dock. The morning they circle around only for 30-40 mins. But tea and coffee and food is good. Recommendation for other travelers. Have a day trip and leave by eve when it docks.

We had a good experience in houseboat. Enjoyed our trip. Really super.

Quality of food and experience was really great. Cook was awesome. They make all efforts to manage your stay comfortable.

Excellent location, good view, average food and limited options. Did not cruise for a long time. But compared to the price I paid it was OK.

Food served was not good and was not enough for the group. The dinner was tasteless. Even the non-vegetarian people in the group were not happy with the deep fried fish served. Room service was average. They changed the starting location at the end moment, it is better to call and confirm.

Not provide best food, not provide food quantity and staff tall no other food available.

Simply amazing experience at shivaGanga houseboat, Food provided was delicious and quantity was ample. Cook preferred to ask everyone what would customer prefer separately, selectively for one who is veg, they might face problems in Kerala, but it didn't happen. We were amazed with veg food served on boat and taste was simply amazing. Cook staff was may be experienced in it. Regarding rooms not much spacious but they price being offered for are Totally paisa vassal. Will be highly recommend to guest.

Very good service. Well and good maintain, clean or cooperative staff. I would like to suggest stay here with your family. In Kerala backwater is best location for spend your romantic time. And I got very good houseboat stay Shivaganga houseboat. Rooms were very clean and WiFi was fast. Breakfast was good. Staff helpful and discrete. Excellent location if you need to walk to houseboat and negotiate or if you are just spending the night before taking a boat at finishing point. The tidy garden is a pleasant surprise (would be great if there were chairs to sit on and shaded area).

During the booking it was not mentioned that AC only will work for 9PM to 6PM which is very disappointed as day was too hot. We are having one year old kid so journey became painful. Although staff was very courteous. Food items were less but it was good.

Good experience. I went with my family. The boat is reconditioned. Good food available. They prepares special seafood upon request. Staff are helpful and the boat is highly recommended for families. Overall best experience

Boat is nice, clean but food was pathetic. I have booked it from Kumarakom but they called me to take it from Alleppey and have to give extra money to my cab. This is not done. Bad one. Room was nice. I will suggest not to take any boat as they stopped after 5PM. You need to just sit in your room and its always on sharing.

House boat was well maintained. However bedrooms in house boat were less in dimension and not well furnished and lacking minimal requirements like laches and hand drops in main door of room. Though the cleanliness was good but still it needs improvements. The stinking smell of kerosene was felt throughout the journey. The staff was courteous. The food was very delicious. The stay had been an average stay.

Boat was late by more than half an hour, the backwater drive was not to the extent expected. Staff were helpful and good, bit they didn't covered the perimeter in the backwater as shown in pictures, during daytime they didn't on the AC and it was very hot as they also closed the glass windows I fear of rains.

House boat is very nice and well maintain. Its only 10 -12 month old house boat. Food choice are very limited and food are not up to the Mark. Very unusual things are happen with us like they don't switch on AC before 9pm and switch off its power in mid night around 3 am. After so many request also they don't switch on power, because we are travelling with Infant it's very unusual and problematic for us. Even we request with MMT also on Hotline but they don't respond.

On reaching the jetty, seeing the boathouse moored to it looked out worldly yet beautiful. We were welcomed by a courteous team of people headed by the boatman 'Unni'. Right after settling in, we were ushered to the deck for lunch. The meals were home cooked local cuisine and it was scrumptious. The boat ride had a different experience with every vantage point (main deck, upper deck and our room). Just lying on our bed relaxing and experiencing the boat ride through our huge window was a first.

I booked the Hotel, paid full but when arrived they said all 5 rooms in the boats are occupied. I can check in and at night they will add one boat to have room where I can sleep. They did not provide that. Forcefully I had to move out from the boat and arrange alternate accommodation. Horrible experience, will not recommend anyone. The water in the tap are sea water not suitable for human to take Bath.
