Extremely Disappointing Stay at Novotel Guwahati

I had a terrible and completely unsatisfactory experience during my recent stay at Novotel Guwahati. The room amenities were not up to standard — the telephone and hair dryer were both non-functional, which caused a lot of inconvenience. To make matters worse, the room had mosquitoes, making it very uncomfortable to rest. The food quality was far below expectations, with poor taste and limited variety. Additionally, the swimming pool was dirty and poorly maintained, which was very disappointing for a hotel of this reputed brand. Overall, my stay was unpleasant, and I would not recommend this property unless significant improvements are made in cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.

Highly disappointed

The overall experience was average because of few things which I feel could have been handled in much better way. The day I checked in, the receptionist took way too much time to hand over the keys and finish the formalities. Secondly, the AC was off throughout the night in room 710 due to some malfunctioning and the next morning that I woke up, there was a foul smell all around the room. Later the same day in the evening hours the same issue happened and I informed the receptionist again. To my surprise, I had to call her twice and the response which I got was “My colleague is on the way”. How long does it take to reach 7th floor when you have a lift? I have claustrophobia and I can’t even explain what I went through. Again I was asked to shift to the next room i.e room 709. When I moved in everything looked fine except the couch and curtains which had a lot of stains. I did not really had time to call and inform the same otherwise I would’ve asked to change the room again. These are few minor things which should be kept in mind and checked timely for a better experience in a 5 star hotel. Also, the breakfast menu had typical breakfast along with only one sabzi and poori on both the days and some English breakfast. Shouldn’t there be some authentic /Typical Assamese breakfast menu included as well? I am highly disappointed with the experience that I had but the staff were all very courteous. Nevertheless, I guess all the mentioned details should be take care of like stains on the couch and room curtains.

Terrible Stay

We booked 2 rooms one had a terrible drainage problem while taking shower the entire water entered the room making it a havoc experience and in the second room some of the lights and hair dyer was not working. I would not recommend it

Dear Novotel Team, As a repeat guest, I have always trusted your hotel for comfort and reliability. However, my recent experience was extremely disappointing. A two-hour power outage at midnight is unacceptable for a property of your reputation. Not only did this cause major discomfort, but it also raised serious safety concerns for guests. It is very surprising that a hotel of your standard does not have adequate backup systems or a proper emergency plan in place. I strongly urge you to address this issue immediately, as such lapses directly compromise guest safety and erode trust in your brand. 1. The bedsheet and pillow cover was not clean and after complain they were not accepting and saying that it was iron press spot. Now come to second part no complimentary tea and coffee sachet was in the room. Service was pathetic and also no one was ready to listen. It was very bad experience for my family as they were traveling and staying alone.

We booked executive room but the staff alloted us superior room. upon asking then to change the room they told us that both the room serves the same. But our problem was solved after discussing the matter with MMT member as we have booked from their site. so I thanks make my teamstaff. Food was average. moreover staff service was worse.

Buffet breakfast 10/10,location convenient but tv was not working.needed if there are children in the room since they get restless in the room

I had faced cooling issue in my room on first day for which they didn’t provide any solution. On second day on my second complaint they changed the room. Food there is good i have no complaint. Rest if the stay was okay
