familyAmong the best homestay experience we have had. Hospitality of sunita and her two children sreelakshmi and vedha was superlative. During the short stay we started feeling they are part of our family. They took care of all our needs and served us tasty vegetarian breakfast. We would love to go back and spend time with them.

Great location, small room, poor service

coupleI hoped to have a lovely stay here. It started off well. The homestay is easy to find, there’s a beautiful countryside enveloping the homestay and swaying paddy fields facing the villa. But there was no one to help with the luggage. We entered the room and were disappointed. The room was small and definitely not worth the we spent. It was a congested room with barely space to walk around it. Later we were told that dinner is not possible due to some reason. We booked this place hoping to get authentic food, but that didn’t happen. However, the villa is beautiful and peaceful. The heritage & kerala style decor is worth admiring. I would have still overlooked the issue in service & room and give it a 4 star rating. But the deal breaker was their ac not working through out the night. They gave reason of low voltage. But that’s not our problem. I would have definitely not have booked this place if all this information was given before hand. The breakfast was delectable and that actually convinced against 1 star. Another good point is the proximity to beach. It’s 2 km away and is a very offbeat beach.

Dear Mr.Umang, Sorry to see that you've not enjoyed your Poothali experience the way we hope to make every guest feel. We offered you another room when your room A/C wasn't cooling well. You didn't opt to switch. Maybe you were thinking not to trouble us, but trust me we were happy to take that trouble for your comfort. Regarding porters for your luggage though, being a homestay we're unable to provide such services. Our rooms are not huge but adequately sized (150sft+bath) and we do not misrepresent this anywhere. A large open common room (1000+ sft) to spend the day is our attraction, and this was available for you. We also encourage/help our guests to explore the life and experiences in the nearby villages. While we understand the expectation mismatch, I hope you would agree the rating is a bit harsh given we offered alternatives. Hope to host you another time and change your mind. Regards Manoj Kumar
