Brown Elephant

This was our first trip to hampi and we were very confused about where we will stay. We looked at multiple places to stay but as it was a long weekend, choices were dimming by the hour. After booking and cancel-ling 3 different Brown Elephants, we finally went with brown elephant cafe. Zero regrets! we couldn't have gotten a better place at the price we paid. We arrived way earlier than we were supposed to and the host, say-ed bhai was more than happy to accommodate us at the ungodly hour. We got our own cute little cottage to stay in. The room was sufficient for the two of us and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. It's a quaint little place nestled near the river. There is a sunset point, a riverside view and a hidden arena beside the river, perfect for taking a dip in the water. The cafe has a chilled vibe going throught the day and night. We get to enjoy delicious food with the cool breeze from the river and music in the background. During the weekend, they light up bonfire for the guests after dinner. The food was so deliciously prepared that we ended up having all our meals except one lunch there itself. The menu consists of indian, continental, italian, chines e and mexican food. Feel free to ask the staff for recommendations and they'll whip up the day's special for you. You must try their set breakfasts, it's mouthwatering and filling! the host and staff are more than happy to help you with your itinerary. They will arrange for the vehicles if you want to rent a 2-wheeler for your stay. They also arranged a deal for us to explore hampi in a day and then return to the Brown Elephant. The staff is courteous and very helpful. Our stay was made memorable by the host, say-ed bhai, caretaker yogesh bhai, cooks- nethaji and praveen bhai. It's a great place to stay at with friends and family. You can make a weekend getaway just to this place and have a great time. We sure did! )

We had a really good time at the location. Pure and serene environment with access to clean flowing river. What else do we need. Only few negatives- 1. Last mile was not easily accessible. Our car took the major toll. Expertise in driving is needed to reach. 2. Room facilities can be improved. Although for us that was not a major criteria but with some more facilities, the place will become incomparable
