Overall, our stay at Thappa Gardens Resort Karaikudi was very cool, pleasant and quite relaxing. The property is located at Ariyakudi, outskirts of Karaikudi town, which makes it close to nature and village beauty and also accessible to Karaikudi town. The property is built in Chettinad heritage style and well maintained. Hence, the place, garden, play area and swimming pool surroundings are awesome. Rooms are quite spacious with all necessary amenities and are neat and clean. Restaurant at the resort provide multi cuisine food and taste and quality is very good. Complimentary breakfast menu is standard, good and satisfying. Room service is prompt and very good. All staff are very polite, friendly and courteous. Ample car parking space is available. The temple inside the resort gives a good spiritual feeling and is well maintained.

Not only the Location is isolated from the town completely, but also the service from reception too. needs to be depended only on the reception for ordering the food from the restaurant. Lack of maintenance in washrooms & garden. Sufficient lighting lacks at the garden area which makes a nightmare to the guests. Only swimming pool and giant chess board (single) is available for the guests activity. Play area is very simple and mostly under sunlight, which restrains the kids from playing. This ambience seems like a replica of Mantra koodam a CGH property @ Kumbakonam which will be @ top notch but this is @ average

Admin irresponsible

There was big noise continuously after 11 pm due to few men who stayed in the opposite side room. Hotel admin didn't instruct them to reduce the noise. These late night issues disrupt the pleasant stay.

Good property but poor maintenance

The food was good and rooms were spacious. But the maintenance of the room was very bad. The floor was dirty and bathroom was not clean. The main door did not have inner latch, anyone from outside could open the door using spare key. The swimming pool was very dirty and we had to inform the receptionist to clean it. The response from the receptionist was very poor.

Breakfast starts at too late at 830am. Mainly north indian or chinese menu for lunch dinner. Toilet/ bathroom fittings need maintenance. Bed was not comfortable, uneven due to use.

My rating for the thappa gardens is not yet 5 because there are few little improvements to be done in terms of ala cart e menu food taste, little attentive room cleaning and the swimming pool bathroom cleanliness. Otherwise it's one of the best in karaikudi area in that budget range with good amenities and large rooms. Also some resort staff are very kind and resourceful. They also helped us arrange local taxi rental!

Decent place but not very hygienic. Too pricey and food was bad. Staff weren't great. Not worth the money that was paid. It's a place to go to drink and chill but it's definitely not the place i'd want to experience when it comes to a chettinad place.

familyAs the temple town rameshwaram was jam packed and we could not get a proper hotel stay, we decided to take a break at karaikudi, just 125 kms before rameshwaram. That's how we got to know about thapa resorts. A good resort with all basic amenities. With good food and economical pricing. The options in breakfast could be better though. The service and cleanliness were good and left nothing to complain about. Overall good.
