Silver Cloud Ladakh

I stayed with this family for 4 nights in October 2019 and I must say, the warmth I received from them was so nice. I felt like I was staying with friends who were always concerned for my comfort. Having breakfast in their small and cute dining room was such a pleasure and the food was yummy we stayed in the sunset room which had traditional ladhaki architecture and the room had a small balcony where we would sit in the evenings and enjoy the cold. I would definitely recommend Silver Cloud to anyone visiting Leh. Thank you to the whole family for making my life and I feel at home.

A good place to stay in Leh, with traditional touch. Rooms are small but well maintained. Owner, his family and the staff were very helpful and courteous. 24 hours hot water available. Food was tasty but lacked variety and options. 15-20 minutes walk to the main market.

Homely feeling, nice people, small but cozy.

It was a pleasant stay here at Silver Cloud and the host Stanzin was helpful enough to arrange transport for the entire trip. Although there was some expansion going on at the property but we had a great experience there. The place is managed by Stanzin's family and all the members were quite supportive. Such people should stay here if they want to experience traditional Ladakh dining and kitchen though the menu is limited which is understandable as it's not a restaurant. Thanks, Stanzin.

The stay was fine. The area where the property is located was very congested. They have a very short menu for everything they need to improve on this parameter. I don't think I would like to visit this property again.

Overall it was an average stay. The property was under construction. Rooms were good and cleaned. They did not have much staff. It was a secure place to stay. The location was far from the City. The hot running water facility was not available there.

Bad food, hard to locate and equally not interested hosts

Room and the sitting area were traditional in Ladakhi style and was mesmerizing to watch. The view from the guest house was brilliant.
The view from room was good, staff was extremely courteous and hot water and room heater was perfectly in place.

Standard room. The hotel site is good, peaceful with a beautiful view. The market is approximately 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Food is simple and tasty. No room service. Power back up is poor at night which is common in this place. Hot water in bathroom works on solar power but since it was raining continuously it did not work properly. No room heater. However the hospitality was very good and we had a very warm welcome along with welcome tea. They even bade farewell to us along with their traditional scarf which was very touchy. Hence this hotel is recommended for an average budget.

Too small rooms and little far from main market.

Hotel is a little far from the market. Approximately 15 minutes walk. Standard rooms are small but clean and the staff was really nice and helpful.
Rooms were too small and are priced a little higher.

Worst experience ever. There was no option of even shifting to other room even when flush was not working and I had to pay the entire amount plus pay for the new hotel.
Room was pathetic, bathroom was dirty and flush was not working. Service was too bad, food was tasteless. Only the front view was nice and the edited pictures they show for standard room. Rooms in reality were suffocating and too small.

We had a lovely stay. The staff and owner of the hotel are very helpful. We felt like home away from home.

The rooms are rather small, and with an extra bed, there was no space at all. The hotel isn't located centrally, and going to the market and other places in the city isn't convenient. The owner is hands on, along with his father and mother, and that an advantage. Breakfast is quite good, and the staff are helpful. This is a vegetarian-only property. Most of the vegetables used are grown on premises. The property is a renovated house, and every kind of noise seeps through into every room. WiFi doesn't work. I guess the owner just keeps the modem on for fancy's sake. We stayed here twice over the span of a week, and the same thing happened. Data on mobile doesn't catch at this location either.

The rooms were clean and well maintained. The owner Stanzin knows the regular problems faced by travelers, and therefore stuff like oxygen cylinders, Diamox etc are easily available at the hotel itself. Hotel is located about 10 min away from the main market. Cab can be easily arranged. Everyone in Ladakh is so friendly and nice. Considering the fact that you are staying at such height, food is plentiful and decently priced. Non veg is not available, except eggs.

Our stay at Silver Cloud was very comfortable. The hotel is run by a family which is very warm and helpful.

Roof top room is very small. And they have only two boys who cooks and help in room service. So there room service is super slow and tedious because they do not have phone in room, you need to go at kitchen area to ask for any help. Food options are less with zero taste. Owner of the property was quite rude on our first day. His son is helpful.

Location was little far from the main road. Food, hotel staff and owners behaviour was fabulous.
