They took an hour to give us the Key as according to them they were getting the room. The rooms are good as shown in pictures but it was not at all clean

Overall okay experience, no 24 by 7 hot water, no room service. No intercom working. We had to ask for towel and soaps and still not got them. Cleanliness was there. Food was OK. Great staff sometimes not available anywhere. Great location.

I had a very nice stayed at Kukum Hotel. I enjoyed so much.
Hotel has very nice view for lake to rooftop and room too. Big room with AC. Food is very good.

The location is good, the food would/could have been nicer if we could get what we wanted. The service, do not know if they know what it means. In summary, at the end of a 13 hours drive, they were a nightmare.
More than the room, it was the hotel itself, that turned out to be disappointing. We had a confirmed booking that was paid for upfront in advance, which meant they would have the room ready when we showed up or at the least take a couple of minutes for it to be ready for check-in. But, no. they made us wait at the reception for the better part of an hour, and every time we asked how long it would take, their response was 5 minutes. And the reason is almost laughable, because the manager and his staff said, their owner’s luggage was kept in our room and they needed to clear it out and get the room ready for us. And all that, when our check-in time was noon, but due to the unexpected traffic hold up in Nainital that weekend, we reached the hotel around 6.30-7.00 pm in the evening and they already knew from our numerous calls with them during that time that we were on our way. The next night we called up room service/ reception to order dinner from the so-called 24/7 kitchen and were told they could not prepare any À la carte items from the menu other than what was already in the ‘fixed’ buffet in the dining hall. For something as common as dal-makhani, the manager said they do not pre-prepare the item, because it could go rancid and that is why they do not have it! It is a shame to call such an establishment a hotel or an inn. A highway motel or b&b would compare better. Totally not worth being a part of the hotel industry.
