Sattal Forest Resort is an amazing place . It stands above expectation in all terms location (on top of the hill facing sattal lake ) , rooms (very well done up , adequate in size open to sky terrace with lake and mountain view) ) cozy lobby with sitting area , games and library and Karoke) food (delicious food with homely taste , all dishes we ordered were mouth watering , Kaela subji was too good ) . staff and owner hospitality 100% . Moreover , the place has very positive vibes . The resort is nicely done up and reflects owners' passion and love for their business. Manager Navin , other staff , Gopal Narayan and owner Ushaji and Upendra ji make our stay very comfortable and memorable .Food is delicious . Strongly recommend the stay . we stayed for 3 nights . The best thing is that they care for our small needs and provide solutions and The owner have built up very good system wherein we get almost all things at the their respective places . the provide vehicles 4X4 for near by visits (bird watching) and also provide Guide for nearby treks . Guide Hemant made my, surya waterfall , trek memorable . It was total 4 hr jungle trek beyond sattal lake .

I recently visited the resort and it was such a breath of fresh air. I had a very comfortable stay over here. The location, food, services are just amazing. They also have service to off-road to go to sattal. Its a wonderful place for bird spotting too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a break from hectic city life.

The forest resort has an stunning view and peaceful location. Loved my stay over there and the sattal lake which is just 1 km from the resort is like a cherry on the top of the cake. Can’t wait to go back there. The staff was also very helpful and cooperative. If you want to get away from your hodgepodge city life, it is a must visit. I stayed in woodsvilla and the view from from balcony was gorgeous. You can also spot the rare birds over there, make sure you take your binoculars. Overall, i would love to stay there again.

This is a 12 cottages/Suits resort nestled in a quiet place about 1 KM above Sattal at Surya Gaon. Well laid and spacious rooms with a well equipped, clean bathroom with lovely views of the hills and the lake below. Abundant species of birds wake u up in the mornings and the lovely golden sunsets in the mountains end the day. The food is fresh and tasty. Overall am excellent place for a short holiday.

Excellent stay. Perfect location for birding as well as for relaxing. Kids can enjoy badminton, cycling, painting and many more. Food is great as well. Staffs are very helpful. It was excellent. Would love to visit again.

We stumbled upon this getaway as we planned a short trip to nainital in may end with a short notice. As expected we didn't find any worthwhile stay available in nainital bhimtal. So we zeroed on to this place. We travel-led with an infant and a toddler. This place though is more suited for group stays but they made us comfortable. We were provided with baby food on-demand. There were plenty of activities for my toddler to engage in. We went to sattal lake in the 4*4 vehicle at the property which is available on demand. Lake is nice and uncluttered in comparison to bhimtal and naini lake. All in all we had a nice stay. Some spoiler is a construction activity underway nearby. It would have been even much more pleasurable if we would have trekked which we could not do as we had an infant. So this place is for people like us who would avoid the hustle even in a peak season and pref-fer quaint location.

There is no menu or tarrif of any food item listed anywhere in the restaurant and neither the staff provides it to guests. Food variety is less and slightly expensive as per market standard. Transpareny towards services must be improved.

Amazing location, right on top of the hill with an amazing look at the lake

A lovely nook in the lap of nature's beauty. Just awesome. Very peaceful and serene and food was good. Staffs were courteous. Only drawback we found was, if possible, put some signboard like was to forest resort at the critical junctions, like hmt turn. It would make the navigation easier.
It would be easier to locate the place if they put some signboard for directors at the critically junctions. We missed the hmt turn and were wandering.
