my stay at Roshnai during visit to Shantiniketan

Roshnai is a good place to stay for budget travelers. A small place with heritage looks but falls short when you actually visit. The rooms are good but can be improved in cleanliness. The garden with plenty of flowers (Dahlia) makes it very attractive on arrival. The location is excellent as the Sonajhuri haat is just outside this place. Folk music (Baul geeti) by professional singers held at night is really great. And the tribal dancers at the haat are excellent to see and women willing join them and enjoy. Good for 1 to 2 days stay. but can't be called a Resort. Food at the restaurant is good. for going around for sightseeing one can avail the Totos available in the vicinity or the hotel can arrange.

Very good resort with reasonable price. The rooms are very small but for two people it's ok. The back side rooms with balcony gives aesthetic look. Good for photography. Food is like home cooked food. The veg thali is really light and good with numerous dishes and a sweet at the end. We also tried chinese. It's excellent. The staffs are really dedicated and supportive. Overall, our first visit to shantiniketan is a good experience mostly because of the resort.
