We had a wonderful stay at Taj Bentota. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. A special mention to Mr. Dalip, the chef, who went out of his way to cater to our meal preferences from northern India. Our room was spacious, and the pool was beautiful. We also appreciated the clean and picturesque beach, which was easily accessible from the hotel. Overall, it was a great experience!

We were travelling for 3 nights, with 2 kids... both less than 10. it was the most wonderful experience staying at this place. The ambience, the staff and the food was superb. a most satisfying and safe stay. The sous chef, Jasvir Singh took personal care and cooked some special dishes to cater to kids' allergies as well. The Superior rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. Though we used little other than the beach, the rest of the facilities were pretty well maintained. the staff are trained and take special care of individual needs of families. I would love to go there again.

The Taj Bentota requires significant maintenance attention. Water leakages were evident throughout the corridor hallways, one elevator remained non-functional for an entire day, and the Palm breakfast restaurant had visible water accumulation with buckets placed around—still uncleaned by 9 AM. The children's play area was neglected, lacking both staff supervision and functional equipment. Food quality was mediocre at best. The property's salient feature is its prime location, boasting a beautifully maintained beachfront. While some staff members were genuinely helpful, we frequently had to follow up multiple times for basic requests, including replacing a malfunctioning kettle in our room. The property has potential but falls short of Taj standards in its current condition.

Our check-in experience at Taj Bentota was smooth and welcoming — the staff were courteous and made us feel comfortable right from arrival. However, the stay itself was a bit underwhelming compared to the expectations one usually has from the Taj brand. The room was quite small and tended to get damp and soaky very quickly, which affected comfort. The room service quality too did not match the usual Taj standards — response times and attention to detail could be much better. The interiors feel outdated and could use a major refresh; there’s tremendous potential to make better use of the space for a more enjoyable and functional experience, especially given the property’s beautiful beachfront location. While the overall ambience and property grounds were lovely, the in-house dining options were limited and not quite up to the mark for the price paid. The food variety and quality could definitely improve to align with what guests expect at a premium resort. In short, Taj Bentota has a lot going for it in terms of location and legacy, but there’s ample room for improvement in terms of maintenance, modernisation, and overall guest experience. I truly hope the management considers these aspects, as the property has the potential to be exceptional.

We had an excellent stay at Taj Bentota during our babymoon. Right from the beginning, the staff went above and beyond to cater to all our requests. The babymoon decoration and welcome cakes made us feel truly special, and they even ensured Indian food was available and customized to our taste. Every member of the team was extremely polite, warm, and hospitable – always ready with a smile and willing to go the extra mile. The attention to detail and the way they handled our preferences nailed it to the mark. Would highly recommend Taj Bentota to anyone looking for a perfect blend of comfort, care, and memorable experiences. 🌸

It’s a beautiful property with spacious rooms and stunning sea view the breakfast had a widespread and delicious menu overall a sumptuous experience

We can’t expect Taj like brand having such properties its very average property comman dining area is also very ok type and for vegetarian options are very less

Resort is beautiful and big, rooms are partial sea facing and quite spacious. They have three restaurants and excellent hospitality. One of their Indian chef, Dalip is superb. We actually felt he was our private chef and took care of us completely. We had a super experience

The best hospitality.. have to mention Jasvier singh from restaurant , hasani from front desk , aimath from Spa for the wonderful service and extraordinary experience .. these guys make you feel like home away from home. Thank you once again for making my bentota experience so memorable

Rooms are good but not very premium compared to other Taj properties, exterior of the property is very good with beach access

Good relaxing stay by the beachside. Food is very good for people who prefer strictly Indian or are only veg.

the food and buffet quality was far below expectations of a Taj hotel. We paid 3000 INR for a dinner buffet and it was bad. The location of the resort is decent but every food and drink is on the expensive side. The quality of service is also not that good. I would recommend to be careful while choosing this specific Taj.

My daughter and I recently stayed at Taj Bentota, and we had a truly wonderful experience. The property is vast, lush, and beautifully landscaped, with easy access to the beach and stunning views all around. The breakfast spread was generous and absolutely delicious. What truly stood out was the exceptional service —the staff were consistently helpful, warm, and courteous. A special thanks to Sam and Asiri for their outstanding hospitality and attention to detail. I was informed about the ongoing renovations after making my booking, but the team ensured, as per my request, that our room was allocated away from any noise, which I truly appreciated. They also kindly accommodated my last-minute request for a late check-out, making our stay even more comfortable. Overall, it was a memorable and wonderful stay.
