Virama Gokarna

Virama is a good place to stay if you are looking for a camp stay amid nature just on the beach. Loved the location, though it was a brief walk on sand from the main road to reach the camp. Walking with luggage could be an issue, but the host provides assistance in bringing your luggage. If you are an early riser or travelling with kids availability of breakfast was a challenge as most of the restaurants around start after 11 AM. Overall a good place and very helpful staff and the host.

My partner and I booked Virama for a weekend and we had an absolute blast. He’s a hugeee design geek & he was so impressed by the attention to detail. It was our first time staying in a tent & i must say it was 10/10. We really loved the washroom, the wooden ledges in the shower area was a detail i was personally very fascinated by. If you’re looking to connect with nature, this is the place to be. The property is full of plants, there are 2 adorable dogs who’ll greet you and accompany you to the beach, just about every aspect of this property had our heart. We will definitely be back!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Stay at Virama, Gokarna! Our stay at Virama was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we booked, the hospitality and care shown by the host truly stood out. He personally called to check our arrival time and even arranged for our luggage to be carried from the walking point — such a thoughtful gesture that made our arrival so comfortable. We were also pleasantly surprised to receive a free room upgrade because the host felt our original room might not be perfect — that level of honesty and guest care is rare and deeply appreciated. A special shout-out to Anil, the caretaker, who made our stay even more memorable. He was friendly, approachable, and always went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. From small requests to local recommendations, he handled everything with a smile. If you’re visiting Gokarna and looking for a stay that blends comfort, warmth, and genuine hospitality, Virama is the place to be. Highly recommended! 🌿

It was terrible experience at Virama

We went in September and the stay is not what it looks like in photos.there’s no kitchen area at the stay which has shown in the photos.tents rooms are okayish and there’s no lights outside of stay so if you are lost you are lost .we booked for 2 days but returned in 1 day only.

Stay was good. There’s some considerable distance to walk from the parking to the resort. And the bathroom is not attached, which is a bit scary at night

No food amenities within the property. Toilet not attached and also toilet wet area flooring done in timber without any water proofing resulting in a pungitive smell.

We stayed for a night. The staff were nice and they had good attitude towards guests. No food available , had to go to nearby cafés. Staff will get our food into tents, but no table or chair for having it. The tent was average. As mentioned no kettle or anything is available. Tent had light, ac, fan and make shift cloth rack. That’s it. We just ordered a cup of coffee and black tea, which was really terrible and cost us 55 rupees. Bathrooms and area is poorly maintained. They used eco-friendly materials which had fungus. And in front of tent there is no space even to stand there. It’s very congested. It’s just average don’t except anything extra here. The place was under construction which is not mentioned. And for all above reasons it’s over priced. Property located , deep into the beach sides. Please expect a long walk along the sea shore .

It was raining when we stayed there, it was so inconvenient since the washrooms are outside the rooms. And we have to walk like 500mtr with our luggage on the beach. Though they send the porter only if you inform 15mins prior when you reach. I couldn’t inform him till we reached the resort so i had to wait in rain 20mins. The rooms/tents are very small

It was a pleasant and relaxed stay. Property was very well designed and maintained with lush greenery around and facing the beach. The sunset views from the property was beautiful. The property management were very friendly and provided a great hospitality.

We stayed at this beautiful property for a day, and it was an amazing experience! The place is surrounded by lush greenery and located right beside the beach, making it a perfect getaway. The room was cozy, aesthetic, and beautifully designed. The staff were very helpful and cooperative throughout our stay. Although the restaurant and a few other facilities are still under development, I’d still highly recommend this place for a refreshing and unique experience.

The best part about the place is the warm and welcoming host. The staff is excellent and goes the extra mile to make your trip memorable. The property is definitely one of the premium ones in the best location. There is an upcoming restaurant which would be the cherry on top, excited to visit again

The property is located exactly on the beach, which is its biggest advantage. However, reaching it can be challenging. Guests need to park behind the property and walk about 350 meters on the beach; though Virama staff will help with luggage if informed in advance, the narrow approach road to the parking area is inconvenient. At night, it is quite difficult to return as there are no lights at the entrance, and stray dogs on the beach can make it uncomfortable to walk. The rooms are set up in tents, but they become suffocating without air conditioning. On arrival, there was a power cut, which raised concerns, although fortunately it was restored later. Room service requires improvement—despite multiple reminders, even a simple request for an additional pillow was not fulfilled. Hygiene around the premises could be better, and there is no provision to dry wet clothes, which is important for a beach stay. Currently, the restaurant is under construction, so food has to be arranged from a nearby outlet. While this is manageable, it does reduce convenience. Overall, the property may be more suitable for couples looking for a rustic beachside experience, but it may not suit families. With better service, improved amenities, and focus on guest comfort, the place could truly match its excellent location.

We booked our stay for 2 days in the hope of scenic beauty and good amenities. But we all ( 4 adults) were so much disappointed as the property was not at all maintained, not even a stool or chair or table or a closet was provided by them. Tents were also of very low height. Toilets are not in the room you have go outside. All kinds of Mosquitos will bite you, hence we left with a terrible experience that we had to shorten our stay there and we booked another hotel as it was impossible to stay there. There is no facility of food there. Even a tea/ coffee was hard to find there.

We had a very good experience staying at Verma. It was directly on the beach. The staff was amazing. They were really cordial and helpful. We had to leave for somewhere at 2 AM in the night and they escorted us to our cab through the beach. I'd definitely stay there again. We had all needed amenities as well, hot water, hair dryer etc compared to some of the other reviews, so I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We were a group of 8 people, visited during the monsoon, 500m walk to the stay from the road, another 100m shortcut was close due to monsoon as told by staff. The location is beautiful—beachfront, surrounded by greenery, and the AC tents with adjacent washrooms made with bamboo and cement structure offer a unique and comfortable experience. There’s an in-house drinks menu, a common area to enjoy games and music, and food delivery from nearby cafes—Sunset Cafe’s food was a highlight! Delivery is managed by staff. What makes this place extra special is the presence of super friendly and equally calm dogs and cats cared for by the host, Anoop. If you’re an animal lover, you’ll feel right at home. Anoop was also kind enough to extend our checkout time. Recommended Cafe: Sunset Cafe(~200 m) Nearby places : Gokarna Main Beach(0 m) Gokarna Temple, Kudle beach (2.7km)
