Jessica Homestay | Rooms & Wi-Fi

Location is little far away from Mall Road ( about 5-6 KM ). It was okay for me as I wanted a calm stay and get a view of beautiful Kangchenjunga which you can view from your balcony. If you want to stay there, you have to arrange your car accordingly as you won’t be able to travel without having a car ( Property is at Hilltop and far away from Mall Road). Room was little unhygienic as bed sheets and the whole room looked damp. I always used to travel with my own bed sheets because I experienced it many a times. One of our washrooms was also not up to the mark. They didn’t allow self cooking as given in the website. Overall experience was okay comparing the budget. Hygiene should be improved for more comfortable stay.

Jessica homestay is a place similar to my home. I highly recommend that everyone going to darjeeling must try once. Highly nice and decent hosting. I felt very bad at the time of check out. I felt i am leaving my family behind.

Feeling like we join in a family. And they also behaved with us like a family member. Took care of every single need. We will visit again.

Very beautiful and artistic rooms. Good people who enthusiastically assisted us in making the itinerary and helped us throughout the trip.

It's too remote and do not have proper access. Reaching there was a nightmare. Property is still under construction. No room service can be expected considering there is no one employed by owner. Everything you do there is chargeable. More that owner I am disappointed with MMT for listing such property on their portal.

To be fair, the hosts Rabin and his wife are very warm and helpful people. Rabin helped arrange the travels for our trip and got us, excellent drivers, as well. The problem is the homestay itself. We were 2 families that stayed here around Christmas in 2019. The location and the building feels like servant quarters of some establishment. We stayed in a dorm-like room on the ground floor. While there family stayed upstairs. Outside the ground floor door there is a 1-foot wide drain. Inside the room, the TV does not work. Heating arrangements (after paying extra or it) was useless. There is no geyser. Instead, an immersion rod was provided. The bathroom was like an Indian Railway compartment bathroom. It had western commode with cigarette butts in it and drains were clogged which I had to clean in the night. I killed 2 medium-sized spiders and tried to kill a spider that was about 3 inches big on the curtain but it ran away. Walls are made of some kind of metal Sheet, possibly tin. The included breakfast is 1 slice toast bread+butter+jam and 1 boiled egg. Hosts were happy to make more but the dining area was so cramped and unportable. We decided to eat a proper breakfast outside. This place may be ok for bachelors on a backpacking trip but terrible choice of families specially with kids. At checkout, the owners asked us for a 5-star review, given their warm nature. I suspect people give the 5 stars out of pity. Suggest to avoid strictly.

Pros- View of Kunchenjunga. Host tried to make the stay comfortable. Cons: Location secluded need taxi to come in/go out of the homestay. Cost 400+ Rs for each way commute. Nothing much to do once back in the homestay. Tv connection not working.

Me, my wife along with our infant daughter went to Darjeeling for a brief stay of 2 nights there. We booked the deluxe room which was very well decorated, aesthetically pleasing, had all the necessary facilities and also had a nice view of the snow capped mountains ahead. They provided us with a local sightseeing package comprising all the major spots at a very reasonable price. The owners of the homestay were very courteous and always checked whether we were comfortable or not and also whether we require anything for our little one. The food provided was also very good. The hospitality extended to us was very warm. They truly made us feel pampered and at home.

Jessica Homestay provides the family feeling when away from home. It provides comfort, warmth and all the facilities required. The hosts are really friendly, they take care of everything on their own and made sure that we are comfortable. We had a trip of 3 girls and we didn't face any trouble. They helped us in going Around the places in Darjeeling, helped us availed the cab services. The hosts are very amicable and always greeted us with a smile and did everything possible. Most importantly while leaving, they gave us souvenir, each one of us and we couldn't appreciate it anymore. Ended up in tears and smile. I hope their daughter grows up as a beautiful lady and sees how her parents have made so many travelers journey memorable. Good wishes.

It was a wonderful experience staying at jess ice's Homestay. The owners were very warm, welcoming and hospitable. The location of the Homestay is perfect. It is at a walk able distance fro the main market and is away from the crowded town too. One can See the mountain ranges in clear weather. The rooms are well maintained and well decorated too. There are arrangements for bonfire and barbecue which will make the stay even more enjoyable.

Location of the property was spectacular and mesmerizing, it was having the tea garden view. Owner was kind and friendly, great hospitality, wooden interior, hand crafted work was amazing about the place. They served homely food which was delicious and such things make the best Homestay experience. Will recommend this property to others. We experienced more than we expected from the stay.

What makes any Homestay better is their owners. Jessica Homestay has wonderful and kind owners robin and his wife. They are caring and helpful. Apart from that the room and amenities are excellent. The view from the room is amazing. Admire the mighty Kanchenjanga while sipping fresh local tea on clear days. Great place for families and groups. They have a great BBQ place to chill. Away from the hustle n bustle of Darjeeling City, this is a serene n calm place to stay.
