We stayed at MPT Safari Lodge, Mukki Gate, and had a genuinely delightful experience. Being a government-run resort, our expectations were modest, but we were pleasantly surprised! The location is unbeatable, right next to the Mukki entrance of Kanha National Park, which made early morning safaris extremely convenient. The staff was polite and helpful, they assisted us with smooth jungle safari arrangements and made sure we were well-informed and prepared. The rooms were clean, spacious, and opened up to a peaceful, forested atmosphere, ideal for families looking to relax close to nature. The food was homely, fresh, and tasty, with a good balance of local and North Indian dishes. Our 3-year-old also enjoyed the open spaces around the lodge. If you're traveling with family and looking for a comfortable, safe, and well-located place to stay near Kanha, this resort is a great choice. MPT Safari Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way, highly recommended!

This review is based on the solo trip I did Kanha ( Mukki ) in June 2025. Here are a few observations The Good: 1. Excellent, well trained and courteous staff - better than any other place you will find in the part of the forest. They are the highlight. 2. Fresh and delicious food. This is an highlight of any MPT property - and this one did not disappoint. Excellent! 3. Location is BIG PLUS for this property . Riverside with private access. high rise watch towers over looking the core zone. Even if you skip safari - there is lots of wildlife you can see from here. During my stay - we had a tigress visit the resort gate and its her territory. Hotel staff will tell you the rest. The Not So Good : 1. Room quality needs improvement. Most of the things are falling apart. AC works but leaks. Bathrooms are good and functional. Bed mattresses need improvement and they are uncomfortable. 2. Power outage is an issue in Jungles and this is no different here. Backup is available but in summer time AC will not work in backup mode. 3. Swimming pool needs to be looked after. Hope this helps

Very comfortable stay! Hospitality is great. I stayed for a longer period regarding my work and experienced homely environment. Location is great nearby Banjar. Riverside room view is serene. Appreciate the staff who are courteous and cared during my stay. Food was good. I stayed for long and had no food issues during my stay. Staff cared for packing my breakfast for work. Reception desk is also good. Mr. Yaduraj and all staff members are humble and helpful.

A Stay That Will Always Stay With Me

Had an incredible solo trip to Kanha and staying at MPT Safari Lodge made it even more special. The property is right near Mukki Gate — waking up to jungle sounds and bird sightings around the lodge was an experience in itself. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff was warm, helpful, and made sure I felt at home throughout. Special mention to Mr. Yaduraj Singh for his personal attention and hospitality — truly made my stay memorable. Food was excellent, and I even stepped out of my usual vegetarian routine (partly inspired by my first tiger sighting!) to try everything — absolutely worth it. Those apprehensive about solo trips, like I was, take this leap of faith. Trust me, you won't regret it Will definitely return after the monsoons. Highly recommended!

The property is not well maintained, the rooms could be cleaner and the Service is very slow. Breakfast Buffet menu can be improved, not many options offered. At the price they charge they need to keep the surroundings and property clean and maintain it.

The plus point was the location, in close proximity to the forest. Not very good in other aspects. Very poor building condition with cracked walls and false ceilings. Power sockets not working. Cleanliness is OK. Food is average. Safari conduction is very good.

We had an excellent stay. Very clean rooms and prompt service. The front desk very nicely facilitated our safari’s to Mukki Gate both for morning and evening and also planned a night safari for us. Yaduraj jee is extremely efficient when co- ordinating safari visits saving us the hassle of going to the ticket counter and getting our guides and jeeps. Special mention to Bishnu Nishad for taking us for 2 forest trail walks and enthusiastically showing us flora and fauna . His knowledge and field experience is praiseworthy and we recommend doing a walk if you are interested in nature.

We had the best experience here at the hotel. The team was the most courteous and helpful in organizing activities for us. We had booked only two safaris online but with their help, we were able to complete 4 safaris in 2 days including a night safari and canter safari(exclusive for inhouse guests). There is nothing to say about anything separately for the property, rooms or food. Everything is just perfect. Whenever we were in the morning safari, we were served with a packed breakfast. We spent 3 nights and 4 days here but it wasn't enough. We never wanted to leave but carried with us the most memorable moments.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at MPT Safari Lodge Mukki from 17th to 21st May, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled right at the edge of the forest, the lodge offered a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and raw wilderness. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team who made my stay so special. Yaduraj Ji ensured every detail was taken care of with genuine hospitality. Jay, Upendra and Ashok Ji were always courteous and attentive, making sure that every moment at the lodge was smooth and enjoyable. Also some other name I am not remembering were also great in hospitality. Special mention to Naturalist Nishad Ji, whose deep knowledge and passion for the jungle made our safaris truly unforgettable. His insights into the flora and fauna added so much depth to the overall experience. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, food was homely and delicious, and the staff went out of their way to make guests feel welcomed and cared for. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, sipping tea by the lawn, and heading out for thrilling safaris – it was everything a wildlife enthusiast could ask for. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the true essence of Kanha's wild beauty with warm, personalized service.

MPT Mukki is a very good option for budget stay in Mukki Kanha...The hotel itself is very good... conveniently located within 1km of Mukki gate. So reaching the booking counter or safaris are a breeze. Pros: 1. Location 2. Service 3. Staff behaviour 4. Food (homely and good) 5. Picturesque setting (the Banjar river flows on its backyard) 6. Family friendly Cons: 1. Dated rooms..need overhaul (though clean and quite big) 2. Bad electrical fittings 3. Shower area water was flowing across the bathroom floor due to incline issues 4. Tidiness Note: The Manager and staff were so helpful and friendly that eventhough we reached around 11pm..they waited for us with hot food and made sure we settled in our rooms!! Big thumbs up 👍🏽
