Ganga Darshnam Guest House

I stayed here for 3 nights with my family, and the overall experience was terrible. 1. Access & Location: The hotel is located in a narrow, dirty, and extremely crowded lane. No vehicles or rickshaws are allowed within a 1 km radius, so we had to walk with all our luggage through heavy crowds. One of my parents is elderly and has difficulty walking, which made this even more stressful. Since you have no option but to hire a rickshaw, they overcharge and exploit tourists. 2. Hotel Condition & Cleanliness: The property is in terrible condition. The lift feels unsafe, as if it might fall apart. Our room had cockroaches and even bedbugs under the mattress. The washroom lock didn’t work. No handwash or body wash was provided. If you turn on the geyser, the sink tap releases only boiling hot water, making it unusable. 3. Staff Behaviour: The hotel staff were extremely rude and unprofessional. They constantly pushed us to buy their overpriced cab services, boat rides, and even sarees from their own shop. The moment you refuse, their behaviour changes and becomes unpleasant. We requested an electric kettle for my elderly parents as they need hot water every morning, but we were told all kettles were “broken”, leaving us dependent on the restaurant—each time taking at least 15 minutes. 4. No View, No Comfort: There is no balcony and no proper view from the window—just an abandoned-looking residential area that looks dirty and unmaintained. 5. Not Worth the Price: For the amount we paid, the hotel was absolutely disgusting. I genuinely don’t understand how MakeMyTrip has approved or verified this property. This stay has made me lose confidence in MMT’s verification standards. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families or elderly travellers. There are far better options in Varanasi—avoid this one at all costs.

Nice stay near Dakshwamedh gath & Kashi Viswanath Temple. This is property of the trust itself.

Honestly, I was skeptical looking at a couple of bad reviews on the maps, however I ended up booking 2 rooms for the 5 of us (3 females, and 2 males) for one day, as a trial. After reaching the location and the rooms, the accessibility of places all encouraged me to continue booking those two rooms for one more day. The rooms were clean and looked like the effort is taken to keep it clean for the guests. There is hot water connection to the shower & wash basin. A small restaurant that can provide all the meals if you'd want (we had one dinner, one breakfast and a tea on another morning). There's a lift for the upper floors. As a first time visitor when approaching the hotel for the very first time, you might find it a little shady route. However, once you walk around Varanasi, you'll realize it's very normal as as close to the ghats and the river as it can be without paying much premium

We have mixed experience Pro- 1. Hotel Location was superb. Very Near to Dasaswamedh Ghat and Kasi Viswanath Temple 2. ⁠Fully surrounded by Markets. 3. ⁠Hotel has decent canteen. Although menu was very limited. 4. ⁠Hotel Manager was Good Cons- 1. Renovation was going on inside the hotel that was distributing. 2. ⁠Electric kettle was missing in rooms. So we need to ask to canteen staffs for hot water every time we need it. Little annoying 3. ⁠bathroom should have been more decent. 3. ⁠ 2. ⁠⁠ 4. ⁠ 3. ⁠ 2.

Location of the hotel is very good .. but terrible experience with the accessibility of the hotel .. no vehicle is allowed to the location of the hotel.. only some rickshaws are allowed ,that also not available during aarti timing..

Very poor experience. Foul smell from washroom was coming out. Very poor. But staffs behaviour was very humble and polite.

Terrible stay. Big no for this property. Rickshaw and Tuk Tuk are not allowed in this route except few rickshaw who charges heft amount based on the situation. Staff is not at all helpful; they only concentrate on arranging trips, boat rides on a very higher prices. Customer support is 1/10. Very limited options in the in-house restaurant and they take lot of time - 3/10. You don’t have any other good restaurants near by which adds more challenges. If you are travelling with elderly people, please don’t book this hotel. Others, only opt if you don’t have any other options. For cleaning, we need to request them for cleaning and they are only available for specific timings. Strange rules. On the whole I rate 1/10

Although, the property is located at the main Dashashwamegh ghat but setback with the hotel is that it is not accessible by any transport even not be hand puller rickshaw. We had to travelled by foot with kids and luggage in very narrow streets followed by Google map. Checking was easy and fast and staff were good. We have not tried the food so no comment on that. Lot of travelling by foot for any temple or famous food joints. So strongly Not recommended for family travelling with kids and senior citizens.

1.Room service should be improved on time without knowing. 2. Ensure to be provided the soap and other things which were missing. 3.Bathroom exhaust fan not working. 4.TV display got damaged (Blurry)and maximum time their have no network.

Property is deep in the street, vehicles are stopped 1km before. Guest need to walk 1km with luggage in the horrible honking area. Really felt like trapped. The restaurant at the property was not maintained, food average, tea coffee available after 1hr once order placed. Overall avoid it if you can to find a better property with approachable road.

Not a pleasant experience, Unclean bedsheets,holes in pillow cover, Dusty tables / chairs , leaking washbasin, shampoo wall mounted dispenser where not working , it was faulty fortunately we were carrying our own soaps , as they didn't bother to offer us any toiletries, n spider webs in bathroom with exhaust fan covered with black dust as they have not clean it from ages.Thr worst is they were not bothered to offer even waters in rooms.empty jugs when we checked in at 1pm, they said RO water available but even that they did not bother to give in water jugs. complaints were in deaf ears. behaving like it's not their problems. when we said has mention all amenities, they said its issues, not theirs as they had not mention all this in their own personal Ganga darshan website. When we were complaining about it sply the night reception was too careless n not at all bother to solve it . Day time front desk Mr Aadarsh at least heard n was humble but still none of the management is bothered for customer satisfaction.breakfast was too salty but we realised their everyone eats salty food so when going to Varanash kindly be prepared to eat salty food. overall I will never recommend n will visit this place next time. As for pls don't keep on merging with any hotels , before doing it at least do research on such hotels, We have been booking from so many years via apps, but this time my trust has been shaken. Unhappy with overall experience.

The hotel is 2 mins walking distance from the Dasaswamedh Ghat and Gate 1 of Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Location wise it’s great, however, the entrance is very narrow which will give you the feeling of old Varanasi. The room was clean, however, there was no night lamp/small light. The hotel advertised its terrace from where people can get the view of the Ganges, however, after asking the receptionist, we got to know the terrace is locked. They don’t allow the guests there. The food was good, but you may feel the options are less if you plan to stay here for4-5 days. The plus point was the behaviour of the hotel staffs. They were very helpful and courteous. Overall it was a decent stay. However, the price pinched a bit when compared with the facilities they provide.

Very difficult to reach staff is rude rooms not good some are not working properly cost is very high to the rooms

Very near to Dashashwamedh ghat, staffs are well trained. They serve very good quality of food through their restaurant. Rooms are very well maintained

stay is nice,very near to Kashi Vishvanath and dashavmedh ghat location is convenient food is very nice services also good

it's walking distance to temple and ghat quick kitchen and room service, we visited during mahakumbh and parked our vehicle at an authorised car parking, boarded a boat from Namo Ghat and reached this property by deboarding at Harishchandra ghat. Then the property is walking distance from there

It was a wonderful stay at ganga darshanam, location is too good. Hardly 300 mtrs from dashwamedh ghaat. Staff is good, cooperative restaurant food is excellent rooms are neat and clean and spacious

The services provided by property is great the hotel staff picked us up from nandi circle. it's a 500 m walk . Property is clean average. washroom was clean. only bad thing was presence of small cockroachs.

I had a very comfortable stay at ganga darshnam guest house. The staff was very cooperative and polite. Rooms were higenic. Plus the location was the biggest advantage. 80 meters from dashashvamedh ghat and 800 metres from kashi vishwanath temple gate no. Over i'm happy with my experience.
