Divan's Bungalow

Polite and informal. The two guys, Giriraj and Manoj, were very efficient and receptive. They made us feel at home. The place itself is charming.

There was no such amenities provided as mentioned while booking, even no tv in room, no telephone, very small room and no ac even. Although place was good but a person who book hotel to stay look for all amenities as mentioned and when you don't find any it's really bad. Apart from this people who were staying there and the staff was really kind but the reception lady was quite rude.

Rooms are specious, good service, good food but the moment you get out of the Bungalow gate, you will not like it as surroundings areas/roads are in poor condition.

The decor matched the photos we had seen upfront. Its wonderful stepping back into the olden times with large rooms, wonderful royal furniture and superb peaceful setting. Saw some adverse comments and that may actually be due to mismatched expectations. Think of it as a heritage bungalow with a couple caretakers, rather than a hotel or a resort with a huge staff team with the round the clock service. We had taken our senior citizen parents to the Divan's Bungalow because the photos of the furniture, the rooms, the old tiles reminded us of our old family bungalow in Mumbai from the 1950's/60's/70's and they loved the superb setting. The swing (hichka), the wooden tables with marble top, the tiles used in the seating furniture. The lovely dining area overlooking the green mini yard with trees and birds chirping. Mrs. Farzana was very helpful and understanding and she upgraded our rooms to super deluxe rooms on the ground floor as my senior citizen parents couldn't climb to the first floor. We learned only later that she did not even charge us extra for those rooms even though they were more expensive as they were more like a suite. Nice bedroom, then washroom/walk-in closet/changing room and then the living room with sofas, coffee table, etc. I understood the intent of mrs. Farzana as someone lovingly maintaining a slice of old heritage history. With limited rooms it is understandable that she can only hire a small team of staff. I guess our fellow guests also seemed all happy as they had come with the correct expectation to enjoy the old heritage living. Some cons (1) no matter how much you accommodate, if you are on vacation and staying anywhere, you will need a lot more attention from the staff. The boy was not available even to see off or to help with the bags on the day of checkout. (2) cable TV was unfortunately down in all our rooms all through our 3 nights stay. Bottom linen set your expectation right and come to Divan's Bungalow with the intent of falling in love with the furniture, the architecture, the glory of olden times. You can't help but love the whole setting. Don't expect hotel/resort like staff availability.

Beautiful outside but dilapidated inside. One can deal with that, but dusty rooms and carpets and wooden flooring eaten by termites. Food not ready on time. No educated reception staff or management to deal with. It’s like dealing with house help and hoping for things to work out. They did not even have a food menu!

Diwans Bungalow is part small hotel part heritage home stay. The old mansion has large rooms and an open front court that are a genuine relief from the crowded neighborhood. The building has a faded air of better times and is very atmospheric. Clean overall, but maintenance could be improved.

This was my first stay at Ahmedabad in divan Bunglow, though I have been visiting for more than 4 years. It was a pleasant stay in a building which is 175 years old. They have tried to maintain it's rustic image though it has only 8 rooms but it's exquisitely designed and maintained. The food was good but I thought it was a bit costly. The staff is helpful. The only drawback is the approach road to the place it's very crowded during office hours. Rest worth a visit if you want to experience a historical Bunglow for the sheer thrill of it and to look at an era gone by.

The service and the food at the hotel are excellent. I hope they maintain the rooms better, especially the linen. I needed a room for a couple of hours in the early morning to freshen up on my return, and they were so accommodating.

I stay in this hotel only for 1 night. This haveli is very nice looking, from outside but very bad service in this hotel. When you book this hotel it's means to them you book only room, there is no buddy to give you service. If you are late coming back to hotel then there is no buddy who open haveli for you then it's impossible to get in. We wait almost one hour outside the hotel to get someone to open the doors. It's better avoid this haveli.

A well maintained historic place. Value for money. But no choice of food. May be a bit scary for some guests, if they are to stay alone there.

The picture of the place is quite misleading. The place is run down in the outside. My son stayed there for a day. The rooms are big and the bathrooms are modern. He had a good breakfast but it was not a spread as number of guests were limited. The room we were offered had mold on the wall. The lunch we had at the place was freshly made. We waited for the lady managing the property to come back as we wanted to move out. At first, she asked for full payment for three days. I reminded her that it was a ‘Pay at the hotel’ booking and I could have turned away from the gate as my husband can not live in a room that has mold, bed sheet has stains and the toilet seat was broken. I paid a day’s amount for not even using anything after 4 hours of nightmare. MakeMyTrip and specially Zirgham helped me in the process being there throughout with me on call. I like staying at heritage properties but this was not one of them.

The place was run down and musty but the rooms had been renovated and were well done. Smaller details should be looked at more carefully. Food was great though, tasty and light

I stay in Divan's Bungalow for 3 nights and property is very beautiful from outside but but problem with service issue. When you arrived we found nobody on reception and start search for some one in hotel after 10 minutes one man come with strange welcome no smile, no hello, hi or namaste. About breakfast very bad service and almost nothing to eat only 1 toast with 1 cup of coffee and it's take almost 30 minutes to prepare it. Man on reception not nice at and all very rude speaking to there guest. I like the property because I like old houses but service and location is very bad so I recommend not to use this property.

Clean sheets clean towels clean washroom. Delicious food. Staffs very helpful. Flexible check-in time. Will stay again.

A time travel indeed but location is absurd

Room was not clean, foul smell was coming. Hotel is in very noisy place. I have to vacate the hotel in one day. But i paid in full for 2 days.

It is like staying all alone feels scary.

Big rooms, separate room for discussion like drawing room, clean bathrooms feels like a kings guest.
