Really good property, great accommodation

Stay Date: 26–27 November 2025 I had a terrible experience at Cliff Aura, Varkala, and this has been one of the worst and most unhygienic stays I’ve ever booked through MakeMyTrip. The room we were given was extremely dirty and badly maintained. The moment we entered, there was a strong foul smell, making it impossible to relax. The bathroom smelled of urine, and the washbasin was filled with vomit that had not been cleaned. The mattress, bedspread, and pillows had a very bad smell, with visible stains. There were hair strands, dirt, and even cigarette buds scattered around the room. It was clear that the room had not been cleaned or serviced for a long time. We booked this property expecting a peaceful Varkala experience, but the condition of the room was unbearable and extremely disappointing. It was a complete regret choosing this place. Inspite of complaining to the caretaker no action was taken. I hope MakeMyTrip reviews this property seriously, and I would strongly advise other travelers to avoid this stay until the property fixes its hygiene and maintenance issues.

If you are looking just for a room to sleep then only choose this stay. There is no reception, no water provided. Nobody is available at the property for checkin or anything we need. The whole property is left on boy who is trying hard to manage it. Location is also very interior and no one available in the night. All basic amenities missing. We felt very insecure. Not a good option for family.

Property is far from the beach. There was no cook available at the property. We had to ask for every single thing like towels , toiletries, water bottles and so. Also, commode and kettle was broken. Even the washbasin was leaking . Pillow covers had holes. Quilt was so dirty it seem like someone ejaculated over it but the care taker didn’t change/ clean it instead just flipped it for the next booking that was ours. Never book a homestay just to save 2-3k . Always go for hotels when u r in small village areas.

the property's location was great. close to all main beaches in varkala and the neighborhood was quiet too. amenities and services are great. the place was clean and the caretaker was very friendly and helpful. rooms were tidy and comfortable

I had a fantastic stay at cliff aura! The rooms were clean and spacious,staff was super friendly,and the location was peaceful. Great value for money. Highly recommended!
