Kingfisher Red Airlines History

After a second re-name, Deccan commonly known as Air Deccan is presently known as Kingfisher Red Airlines. It came into existence on August 29, 2008. Its first flight took off from Hyderabad, with destination to Vijaywada on August 23, 2003. Kingfisher Red has Airbus A-320 and ATR-72 aircrafts in its fleet to provide the best possible low cost service to its passengers. Kingfisher Red got its present name after UB Group chief Vijay Mallya bought it from Air Deccan. Air Deccan and Kingfisher Airlines decided to merge with about 50% stake each on December 19, 2007. Mallya became the chairman and CEO of the new company as per the deal, which took place in the month of April, 2008. The airline carried the tagline - 'Simplifly', which signified that from their assistance it was possible for common man to travel via air.
