We booked the deluxe room for us on Friday night and on Saturday morning when we came out to reach the homestay they said our deluxe room is already booked. They said theyโll give us standard room and the standard room was nothing we actually wanted. The tv was not working

Poor Stay

The behaviour of workers was rude. No exhaust fan in toilet was not provided. Switch of geyser was hide n behind geyser and was of black colour therefore could not be traced in half an hour. Geyser was not heating water in even 45 minutes resulting we take bath with cold water. There was very cold in night they deny-ed to provide blower in ist instance. After requesting many times they provided a room heater which was very slow. No wifi password provided and no internet connectivity was available at home stay room. No sealed water bottle was provided for drinking water. No tea coffee arrangements made for us. Nobody was receiving mobile calls at reception in night and early morning also to resolve the issues. No call bell was fixed for room they are knocking door everytime. I am reporting this as i felt very discomfort during my stay and felt very bad experience.

Thank you for your feedback. We don't think food price is very high. Ours is not a Restaurant and food are freshly prepared only for the Guests. Prices of Commodities in a faraway village Sohra are also high compared to other States of India.๐๐

Helpful Host: The host was very helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Delicious Homely Food: The homely food served in their kitchen is delicious and a refreshing break from typical hotel food. Hygiene: The room, bedsheets and bathroom was very pristine and hygienic. Seldom have I seen a hotel/homestay so clean, tidy and hygienic. Convenient Location: The location is excellent, being situated less than 100 meters from one of the few petrol pumps in the Cherrapunji area. Cons: No Shortcomings: We found no shortcomings during our stay here. Overall, our 3 day stay at Stay Awhile was wonderful, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay in Cherrapunji.

familyNot a good place. Room shown in image is not actual. You'll get something terrible. Place and bathroom not clean. No good food. Staff is also very rude. Staff is busy in drinking alcohol and doesn't listen to you.

Place is very nice. Our one night stay over there was a pleasant one. Room was neat n clean. Spacious, dining area was nice. Staff behaviour was very polite. Specially food was like home made. Not very spicy. I surely recommend this homestay for try. Parking space was there. Quite a comfortable stay over here.

The stay was really terrible, no ac, no ceiling fan, one one high power light, no room service, behavior was so rude i can't describe. Complimentary breakfast was just one pc of bread with one omelet, alternative was offered one pratha without any sabji or dal. Most bothering was no power almost 4 hrs in the night. I paid for three but room was not worth rupees. The stay was so horrible, i was not in a mood to take photo

There was a pedestal fan actually. Power cut as there was load shedding since this year there was no rain at all in Shillong and mercury is rising which has never happened in all past years. Sorry for the inconvenience. Rude behaviour was not true except if you took it as such and the complimentary with one slice of bread is also false . Please don't exaggerate.Room was meant for 2 only if you had paid for three that is your problem. Maybe it's not worth even Rs. 1000 in your place but this is Cherrapunjee a Tourist place. And you should know that booking from agencies the price will always be high because we don't get what you all paid . Do take note of taxes and commission too and don't account it to the room rent. Also next time please look carefully at the amenities before you book. ๐

When we stayed every customer was unhappy and kept fighting with the management for some reason or the other. We did not have hot water in the rooms, they asked us to bring the bucket to have the hot water and after two buckets, they said they ran out of water. We were four people and only two of us took bath because of that. For other customer, they booked for two days onsite and when they found another customer, they were kicking out the existing customer and told him to move to another property in the middle of their stay. People who stayed next door also didnโt have the hot water and they had little kids. Weather was little colder so everyone expects hot water. Not happy with the service at all. I paid for one night and they were charging around so I do not recommend this property to anybody

We apologise for the inconvenience for the hot water issue as the meter got short circuit. It was not done intentionally. We had tried to provide you with hot water nonetheless. We had never Kick out any Guest since the opening of this Homestay and you have no right to talk about the issue of other Customers because you don't know the beginning and end. You stayed only one night where there are another 2 rooms Guests who stayed for 3 days continuously and had no complaints because they understand that we tried our best to make them comfortable though sometimes unforeseen incidents do happened. It was very wrong to say that every customer was unhappy. We have positive reviews to back us . Having said that we don't want to malign our Guests. It's just to make things clear. No one is perfect so We will continue to strive for good hospitality and positivity. Thank you ๐
