This facility is situated in kangan which is almost 60km from sonamarg valley. It is situated on the banks of the sind river but one has to cross over to the other side of the river from the highway. Do-not miss the u-turn immediately after the first bridge cross over, otherwise you will end up on the kachha road entry from the rear which is pathetic. The google maps still show this route which is erroneous. It is a beautiful home stay with all the facilities of a 4 star Shepherds Cottage | A Luxury Stay. The flooring and the partitions are made from wood which gives it a different look and feel. The services by the caretaker is very prompt and adequate. The garden is well maintained with a small pond which houses quite a few ducks and swans. The dining space is good with a television. Overall the stay was comfortable and cosy. The only con being the location which is very far from proper sonamarg

Shepherds cottage was an amazing experience. Right from the time we entered, the staff were ready to have us settled comfortably. The rooms were perfect. Clean rooms with all facilities. Geysers and room heaters all helped in the warmth needed in the room. Location : the property is on the way to sonamarg and is placed beautifully with the mountains in the backdrop and the majestic sindhi river ( indus ) flowing just at 100 m. The views from the property are breathtaking and offers a quiet and personal experience for travellers. Spending 30 mins on the banks of the river was rejuvenating. We had 2 night stay here. Food is made based on our order. So give details in advance for the requirements. There are separate rooms for drivers accommodation. Susan, thanks for the hospitality. We enjoyed our stay. A place for a calm and mind soothing stay in the lap of nature. Situated just besides the leh srinagar highway amid-st the beautiful village of sonamarg. The house is built with kashmiri traditions and included with all basic amenities. The owner, susan khalid is very helpful and was really worried to guide us to reach the place easily and safely. The garden offers live water channel and ducks adds more beauty in the garden. The caretaker was very nice. The food offered was really delicious especially the kashmiri cuisine. The kashmiri cuisine is a must try if you stay at this place. A must to stay place for a day for relax and mindfulness.

It's an amazing cozy place by the side of a canal. It was enjoyed to the fullest by my kid who loved playing with the ducks in their private duck pond. A little canal flowing through the property gives it an amazing view. Food was homely and amazing. Caretakers are an amazing bunch of boys. Only downside was its distance from sonmarg. Its 45 mins drive from sonamarg but location overall was amazing. What one can do is visit sonmarg and nearby points and checkin the evening. It is on the way to srinagar. Mornings here are amazing.

The host and the caretaker were amazing in their hospitality, we took the attic room which was large and had a balcony, just a hiccup with the warm water at the bath which was solved later, the property has a very homely experience, loved the garden filled with fruits, the vintage memories across the Shepherds Cottage | A Luxury Stay, truly does not make you miss home. The best ever cottage i've been into in my entire adulthood the caretaker manzoor bhai is a gem the owner susan helped me with the hassle-free checkin experience the property is well maintained i would really suggest dont give it a second thought just book it. I am pretty much sure you would love the stay. Thank you susan and thank you manzoor bhai.

This home stay is truly a paradise. The house offers a tranquil stay in the caring environment of a house that is designed for travellers to interact and enjoy amid-st the mountains and the gardens. The owner susan and the caretaker manzoor are always helpful without being aggressive and are a real reflection of kashmiri hospitality.

Location of shepherd's cottage is so prime near riverside. Hospitality is very good and food is very delicious. We enjoyed so much with our family. Great experience and wish to go again and stay at shepherd cottage.
