The Merak

th cottages don't have heating system. it's closed airtight and can lead to suffocation. more over the oxygen level is very low .they do not have intercom or wifi .Because of low oxygen level I had to leave the property in the night itself

The place is absolutely beautiful. A helpful tip- do not judge the place from outside it’s absolutely amazing. They have a very friendly and helpful staff. Very friendly dog named tony he’s very very cute. The rooms and dining area are insulated and very warm. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful. You can stargaze while sleeping. There is network issue there. Only BSNL works there. Rest we enjoyed the stay. It was great☺️

Overall experience is good. Service is good. Lake is little far and not distinctly visible from room. However someone can go to front part of the hotel to see it properly

The merak is a good place to stay near pang-gong lake. The structure is beautifully built, all wooden, well done. The reception area is small, but they don't need a large reception area. People are always there to help. I met akash who helped us with getting the room and luckily we had the best room among those 11 cottages. Large space in the room, really large bathroom, all amenities like a 5 star hotel. The best part was the food. Very tasty. They serve bfast, lunch and dinner. You can go there hungry and you will not be disappointed. People serving there are really sweet. Akash, ram and one more. Met only 3 people and they were handling the whole show. Will definitely stay there again if i can get to merak. Very comfortable place to stay.

For a stay charging a premium, least expected would be electricity backup for 24 hours. There is no power between 11am to 6pm and 12am to 6am. Wifi isn’t available which is because of the proximity to the ind o china border which is agreeable. However the same should be clearly listed. The resort is not located by the lake, it is a good 2. 5 to 3 kms walk. The room doesn’t meet expectation for the price paid. There is a smell in the room and it is more or less a temporary structure itself, just that it seems a little done up compared to a tent. Staff is courteous, food is decent. All is all, for that price point, not worth a stay here

The hotel is located at a remote place known as merak. It is a no network area except bsnl network that too it is operational for selected hours. We faced breathlessness. Need oxygen mandatorily. Be prepared accordingly. The lake can be seen at a distant. However it is a 10 mins walk to reach the lake. Food was good. Service was good. They were helpful & courteous. Will suggest a stay here if the onward journey is to hanle.

No phone signal or wifi. Food was good, but the views shown online are deceptive. Rooms are cozy and comfortable. The best part is the glass ceiling, perfect for star gazing.

Great location. Good food. All the staff members are very good and helpful. The pangong lake is about 1 km across the road that you have to walk down. There is no place to buy even basic stuff in pangong so go prepared. The rooms are well built and well kept. The hotel runs on genset from 6 pm till 12 am and there is no power after that. No signal of jio or airtel. Only bsnl works for calling. They give you bsnl phones in your room for urgent calls. They also have oxygen concentrator in case of emergency. Its just the natural beauty that you enjoy in pangong otherwise there is nothing else you can do. The hotel is about 15 kms away from pangong scooter site. Overall the merak is the best in pangong.

Power generator is stopped at midnight every day. For improvement, it’s recommended that the heating element should be given in solar water heater because today i had to take bath with ice cold water. 3-some mirror(3-4 ft )may be provided in front entrance space of each cottage. Rest everything was fine staff is very cooperative

It was a great stay. Good view. Warm welcome and good service. It is little far from centre point. There was clear view of lake from room itself. Well maintained property.

There was no network over there in merak area, you have published wrong on your website. There is no network or wifi, you should look into this. The food was also very avg, the staff was very helpful they made the stay better

A must stay for people visiting pan-gang ts o lake. The rooms are luxurious, comfortable, extremely clean bathrooms and toilets. Rooms give a view to the dark sky while lying on the bed. The mouthwatering food is freshly preparedby chef sachin and his team. Akash and amit look after the guests and food respectively very warmly, politely courteously and always ready to lend a helping hand. We had an unforgetfull stay. Thankyou all.

We had a great stay at the merak, pangong. The location is 20km away from the main area which makes it more peaceful & the way to the hotel is beautiful along the lake. The hotel has the view of the lake, 10min walk to reach the lake. The welcome was great & the staff was very courteous & friendly. The rooms are decent sized. There is a sitting area, bedroom & big bathroom. The cottage is thermally insulated which makes it warm & cozy to stay in the night. But in the mornings it is a bit too warm. Cleanliness & amenities are upto standard. Room doesn’t have great view but if you just sit outside we are surrounded by snow capped mountains on all sides. Food is provided as buffet or you can also order. Delicious food.

We were at the merak for an overnight stay. Listing the pros and cons here pros: good food and good smiling people. Star gazing at night to spot the milky way galaxy cons: no electricity from midnight to 6 am. No wifi. Given the far off location of this place, no wifi and limited electricity is understandable but this has to be communicated at the time of booking. The cottages maybe insulated however there is no finishing done to them. The paint and cement remains lay dripping and hardened in the bathrooms. Cleanliness of bathroom is way below par. In case of a medical emergency due to ams, this place is not easily accessible. It is at least 50 mins away from the main shooting point area of the pangong lake. The images They obviously don't capture the shoddy loos and the soiled carpets

It was good. However the room was hot in the day time making it suffocating.
