Pangong House - A Boutique Stay

I stayed at this hotel on the night of 6th November, when the temperature had already dipped to –5°C at check-in, with an expected low of –13°C later that night. Despite the extreme cold, I chose to stay near Pangong Lake to experience stargazing under the clear Himalayan sky—and it was absolutely worth it! What truly made the experience memorable, though, was the wonderful hospitality at the property. The owner was exceptionally kind and supportive, ensuring my room was cozy and comfortable. The room came equipped with a heater and electric bed sheets, which made a world of difference. It’s important to note that electricity is unavailable between 11:00 PM and 6:30 AM, which is a daily routine in this region. However, the wooden construction of the rooms provided excellent insulation, keeping the warmth intact throughout the night. Upon arrival, I was greeted with fresh cookies and a cup of traditional Kashmiri Kahwa, which was a lovely gesture after the long journey. Overall, my stay was comfortable, memorable, and truly enhanced my Pangong adventure. The warmth of the hospitality perfectly balanced the chill of the night — a beautiful blend of adventure and comfort!

Great location and food. But the bed was very dirty. It had a lot of dust and the bedding was also very dusty.

It's a homestay and very average food and lenin and space in the room. since it's an offbeat difficult place. You can consider it if you wish to stay just overnight and move early in the morning to your next destination.

had an unforgettable stay at pangong house — a true gem right by the majestic pangong lake. the rooms were cozy, clean, and well-equipped with warm bed heaters and 24-hour electricity, which is rare in this remote area. what stood out the most was the hospitality – the staff served each meal with a genuine smile and offered local ladakhi food in a beautiful traditional setting. the hot water ran all day, and the outdoor seating area was perfect for soaking in the stunning lake views and stargazing at night. i especially loved the sunset hi-tea by the lakeshore, sipping local chang beer while listening to the soothing sound of the waves. this wasn’t just a stay, it was an experience — peaceful, authentic, and heartwarming. highly recommend it for anyone visiting pangong lake.

Thr was no geyser in the washroom and no water in taps as well...wht excuse they were giving is water freezes....seriously in geyser too ? Bed was uncomfortable too..

Location is ma-an and somewhat okayish. Some walking distance to lake. There some construction going around everywhere. Rooms are good and cozy. Food was good. There's no wifi. Heater was not working in september. Views from room are also okayish. Better options available around pangong tso for the price.

We could walk to pangong lake from this guest house at any time and had a spectacular view of the lake. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing time by the lake.

If you're someone who doesn't want to stay just next to the 3 idiots shooting point and want to avoid the unwanted crowd, you should definitely go for this stay. The rooms are beautiful & comfy, the hospitality is also great. And the lake view just across the stay is something you would want to watch forever.

The stay was excellent and the food was really good as well. Definitely recommended to tourists. Also the hosts were very warm and polite.

The property has in man village. The good thing about is that it is far and is less crowd. You could see the lake from the property and actually it is walkable distance around hundred metres food provided was excellent.

Nice, clean and very good place at such remote location. Very friendly staff. It’s a proper house not a tent or wooden cottage. Located at 5 km from main shooting place at man village. Actually you can see lake from room.

I'd suggest you to spend more time at this place rather than anywhere else. It has a clear view of sky where you can stargaze and enjoy the breeze

The heater needs an hour or so to be started which we were not aware about. I wish the host told us this before hand luckily it wasn’t too cold in the night. Rest everything was good place is neat close to the lake and they provide hot water when we need it

My husband got ill due to high altitude and we have consulted army doctor at south pullu, we have to come back from there. We called pangong house and makemytrip, explained whole situation, and requested for refund, but they denied. This is bad, even though they have written that in case of medical emergencies they consider reimbursement! felt very bad.

The wooden home has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen and a dining room. The home is located 300 steps away from the lake. The location of the lake is absolutely great from where one can have picturesque view of hills and the lake. Staff is cordial. One has to take out shoes outside the hotel they don't have enough number of slippers. We were 8. However, they had just 4 slippers to offer. In a cold place like pangong, one can't walk inside the home without slippers. They operate heaters in the room only from 6. 00pm to 9. 00pm. In a cold place like pangong, should allow more time. In the closed house, smell of kitchen is very prominent everywhere. They serve homely vegetarian food in dinner/ lunch. Very tasty. However, they are really stingy in breakfast. Poha, parantha and toast. Poha is dry with no accompaniment. Parantha too doesn't have accompaniment except aachar. Photos from window of the hotel.
