Excellent Stay

This hotel is co-located inside Jehangir Mahal Orchha itself, so you can get a royal feeling staying there, also most of the major visiting places are within walking distance. Room was clean and bright with all the basic amenities! The staff was polite humbled and professional!! Food and Breakfast was fresh and very tasty !! So I had a great experience overall and will definitely recommend this hotel for sure !! :)

Good overall but with a few issues

Location was excellent (rooms are inside the Sheesh Mahal and the Jehangir Mahal inside the Orchha Fort complex). Food is good; the cooking staff takes special requests. Hotel staff is polite and helpful. The rooms are very nice, styled in the old world charm, fitting nicely with the milieu of the surrounding fort complex. As for amenities, the bathrooms need better maintenance. The heavy steel soap holder in the shower place simply fell off - it was so loosely attached to the wall! Could get seriously hurt. The geyser was not working in the morning - had to take a cold shower. Also, the toilet had a stench (perhaps due to old plumbing) that would not go away.

A memorable stay

The location is excellent. Rooms are just ok in the sense that expected a better one. Had dinner and the cooking was horrible. Not upto the mark at all. They just put the boiled ch k in gravy to make ch-kn masala. Biriyani seemed to have a shallow frying of hkn gravy along with jeera rice. . Breakfast experience was pretty good

familystaff is good. but this is very average government hotel. the restaurant has that typical smell. linen is not at par/ feels very fresh. above all geyser was not able to give hot water enough for a proper bath . you can stay here for proximity to Mandir and if you like heritage properties. but avoidable at best. but full marks to staff.
