JR Lodge @ Velankanni Bus-stand

Enormous amount of problem faced. I had cursed myself for having the rooms booked . I booked the room just for the credibility I had to put my family and friends into a huge inconvenience because of this booking. 1. Firstly the lodge was so unclean, the rooms stinked. No bedsheets were provided. The cleanliness of the washroom was pathetic. One of the room had stinky smell throughout. The wall tiles were dirty with stains all around 2. The rooms we booked were already sold to some other customer in spite of calling the number given in the booking voucher about our late arrival. We had three senior citizens and 2 children with us. I had to confront a shameful situation in front of my family and friends in spite of booking making the payment in advance. 1st we were told that there is no booking in our name at the reception. They just had a manual booking journal mentioning name of the occupants. We were also told that the rooms were full. Then we called the number in the booking voucher and told him about the hassle we had to face. We were told to another site of the hotel where we met manager siva kumar, who told there's no room at his hotel as well. He came along with me to j s lodge and started shouting at the person at the reception stating why he had given the rooms to someone else when the owner had already asked him to block two rooms. After that drama between them, we were told to wait for one hour so that they could ready a room for us in the meanwhile. During the whole episode, all 9 of us had to wait at the reception which had no place to sit. 3. I had paid for 9 pax, but was given just two double beds. When i confronted about this to the manager and one more person (maybe owner, we were told we had booked two rooms and the hotel had provided us two rooms. When asked how to accommodate 4 persons in one room and 5 persons in just two double beds, we were told, this is what we have, this is what we can give. Further we were told, you had booked for 2 rooms and we provided you with two rooms. When questioned about, how does the booking voucher show 4 pax and 5 pax each and there is just two double beds. What about the bed for the ones left out, we were told no of pax does not mean that we had to provide you with that many beds. Such is the pain and hassle i had to go through by booking this hotel

The facilities were good and the people were friendly.
