Staying at Barikothi was nothing short of magical. This heritage property, once in ruins for nearly 70 years, has been beautifully restored—and it's truly awe-inspiring to witness the transformation. Hats off to the incredible vision and tenacity of the brother-sister duo behind this revival; their dedication is evident in every corner of the property. The ambience of Barikothi is both regal and serene, perfectly blending heritage charm with modern comfort. The authentic Rajasthani cuisine served here was a highlight—flavorful, rich, and deeply satisfying. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Barikothi to anyone looking to immerse themselves in history while enjoying impeccable hospitality.

A great place to for a day or two. The uniqueness of this kothi is that it's on the bank of river hooghly. An evening boat ride is great and so is the breakfast by the river with flute being played live in the background. The staff are courteous & helpful. But, it has it's own drawback also and that is it location. The last two km drive to the kothi is a nightmare, and you think is it worth a visit. Driving to the kothi is a big negative and strongly not recommended. So the best option is to take a train and nearest railway stn is azimgunj city. Second issue with the location is a railway station just couple of 100 m away.

We had a pleasant stay at this property. It was neat and clean. The food was excellent too. It was our first time staying at a heritage property, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. They have cultural programs in the evening as well. The decorated history of murshidabad as well as bar i kothi itself made for a very unique weekend.

Even though the approach road made us doubtful about our choice of the property, once we got there. All our fears were laid to rest. Mindblowing property and really very warm and courteous staff. So awesome, that I am already planning for my next stay there.

Property is excellently maintained and service is too good

Staying at Bari Kothi was an amazing experience. The ambiance and the food were awesome, and the customized looking after was simply outstanding. Breakfast on the Ganges with the breathtaking rustic view was a novel concept, and the fabulous curio shop was charmingly stocked. I had a truly wonderful time!

Was more than what i had hoped for. The hospitality was par excellence.

it's a very great experience of course with a few drawbacks which may not be for some but perfect warm superb hospitality.hats off to tye owners who had the calibre n guts to revive such a place in a village and to the staff🙌
