FESTIVALS & EVENTS
If you can’t think of anything better than riding down the Konkan coastline on a bike, with warm breeze blowing through your hair and the scent of the ocean filling your nostrils, then the National Harley Owners Group) Rally to be held in Goa is where you need to be. To be held for the first time in India on January 31 and February 1 2013, HOG is slated to become one of the premier events in Goa.
People who are passionate about the cult brand Harley-Davidson and those who just love motorcycles, of course, shouldn’t miss this event for anything. The event is more than just a motorcycle event; it’s a celebration of what it means to own a Harley-Davidson - freedom, self-expression and epic adventure.
The HOG Rally really must be experienced at least once by anyone who loves Harley-Davidson and motorcycles in general. Motorcycle rallies are held all over the world and include a range of events to keep you hooked. These include concerts, observation rides, seminars, demonstrations and getting out there and riding your bike with fellow enthusiasts.
As part of HOG, there are guided rides, where you can explore the local scenery and go off the beaten track. Imagine biking in a large group, single file along the breathtaking Goan coastline on a Harley. With its laid back atmosphere, stunning beaches and great food, Goa provides the perfect backdrop for this national event in India.
2013 marked the 100th anniversary for Harley-Davidson and the rally in Goa kicks off the company’s birthday celebrations. Immediately following the Hog is India Bike Week on February 2 and 3. This will be India’s first bicycle festival and is open to anyone who is interested in getting out onto the open road for a ride.
With both the HOG and India Bike Week, there’s sure to be a huge party in Goa and worthwhile for you to indulge in Goa’s sun, sand and surf on an extended holiday.
So dust off your helmet, grab your sunglasses and put your foot on the pedal as you head towards Goa for India’s first National HOG Rally. MakeMyTrip offers convenient flights and trains to Goa.
