Before work consumes you, or before the festival season starts with full-force and money starts flowing out, here are the places you can escape to for quick getaways on a budget. Check out these holidays under Rs.10,000 where you can travel to this September

Kasauli

Best From Delhi (288 kms)

A charming army cantonment town, Kasauli is the perfect getaway for a weekend amidst the hills. Around a 6 hour drive from Delhi, Kasauli is a quiet little place, where you can relive the simple colonial hill-station life. Nestled in the beautiful Himachali hills, you can easily cover this destination on a budget.

Travel: Rs. 2100 round trip from Chennai. Coonoor is well connected by road and railways, and not very expensive to get to. You also have the option of hiring a private cab in Chennai, and travelling to the hill station.

Anthargange

Best from Bengaluru (70 kms)

Anthargange is a beautiful rocky hill range, which reminds you of the locations of Sholay, which was filmed around this area. Known for its wide range of adventure activites, Anthargange is a popular getaway from Bengaluru. Caving adventure, trekking, rappelling are popular adventure activities.

Hotel: Rs. 1500 per night. The closest place to stay near Anthargange is Bengaluru city, a mere 70 kms away. There are plenty of budget hotel options in Bengaluru.

Food: Rs. 500 per day. There are not any fancy restaurant options in this beautiful getaway, but plenty of stalls and small eateries where you can have local cuisine of dosa, rasam, idli, sambhar, etc. Also a great spot for a fun picnic with family. 

Travel: Rs.1,500 cab for one day. Quite close to Bengaluru, the best way to reach Anthargange is by road. You can easily hire a car, motorbikes or taxis at a nominal price. 

Total cost for 1 day: Rs. 1500 (Hotel) + Rs. 500 (Food) + Rs. 1,500 (Transport) = Rs. 3,000
