The Copenhagen Airport (CPH) is one of the oldest airports in Europe, opening as a private airport in 1925. It is the biggest airport in Scandinavia, and serves Copenhagen and much of Denmark, along with the Oresund Region. Located on the island of Amager, it is approximately 8 km from Copenhagen's city centre. The Copenhagen Airport is one of the three main hubs of Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), with three terminals, served over 21.5 million passengers in 2008, making it the 17th busiest airport in Europe. The Copenhagen Airport is well-connected, and can be accessed by rail, metro, bus, and road.
