Athens International Airport ( ATH ), also called 'Eleftherios Venizelos'is a public airport serving the city of Athens as well as Attica region. Owned by Greek Government and operated by Athens International Airport S.A, Athens International Airport started operations on March 29, 2001. Along with two asphalt-paved runways and two terminal buildings, Athens International Airport is also equipped with many services and facilities for passengers'convenience that include ATMs, travel agencies, car rentals, currency exchange outlets, hair salon, massage chairs, children's entertainment centre, baggage storage, business centre and hotel. Athens International Airport is a major base for two Greek airlines, namely Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines.
