The Sandringham Hideout Bnb

This was my first trip to Dalhousie and I must say that I have been very lucky to find a homestay like The Sandringham Hideout. It seems to be a heritage property built by Britishers located amidst lush green deodar, away from all the noise yet 5 minutes walk away from Gandhi Chowk. This would be the best place if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxed holiday. The kind of hospitality and humility shown by the owner Mr. Johar Singh and his family was exceptionally outstanding. They made us feel so warm and comfortable that we never thought we were staying in a The Sandringham Hideout Bnb, it was rather a very homely feeling. Right from treating us with with a welcome drink, to making us taste the local Aam Papad and yes, of course, serving us the most delicious lip-smacking food in Dalhousie (Mr. Johar Singh is a chef by himself), everything was just so so so excellent. In spite of lack of staff, all the Hideout members were there for us day in and out to serve us The best in every possible way and even if I scratch my head to find out one single thing which I didn't like, there was none! In short, this was the best experience I have had in my entire journey of traveling. I wish I could stay there for Long!

I write this review from my heart. We enjoyed our stay, with a courteous host, clean washroom and bedroom. The welcome was fantastic with the mother of the host so caring and affectionate with the guests. We really felt like stay at our home, when we are away about 2000 km. The food was prepared hot and fresh with a homely touch and it was served with minute punctuality. Also, they arranged nice taxi services to roam Around Dalhousie then to proceed to Dharamsala at affordable cost and reliable. I booked a room without a balcony. But I was offered the room with a balcony without extra cost and earlier check-in was permitted without extra cost. I suggest visiting Dalhousie to have a feel of this great host and to see sightseeing also.

Sandringham homestay was a nice place to stay in Dalhousie. And people who own this place are very sweet and decent, Mr. Johar is very helpful and cooperative. View from The Sandringham Hideout Bnb porch is also quite awesome. Few suggestions: (1) As The Sandringham Hideout Bnb check-in is 1 Pm, guests are reaching on an average after 10 to 12 hour of long drive, would appreciate if guests are also served with snacks/food along with welcome drink. (2) For online booking it should be very specific on details for room with/without balcony. On mountains none generally would by choice go for without balcony until there is no other choice left.

One has to climb some 100 meters to access this The Sandringham Hideout Bnb. This was a bit tricky for us due to heavy snow. The staff here was helpful in carrying the luggage for car parking to luggage. Rooms are clean. View from hills is awesome. Don't miss the sunrise and sunset. There is enough snow to play around in winter. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. The service of the staff was exceptionally good. The heating facility in rooms can be improved. It's a bit isolated, so one has to ensure they are back on time.

It's a beautiful property which is secluded and well maintained with spacious rooms which offer breathtaking sunsets. The outside sit out area is the best part. It's a fifteen min walk to the main town centre and a 5 min walk from bee-gees park which is the best part of dalhousie. The owner was really kind and attentive and made us feel at home. If you want a nice peaceful secluded place surrounded by birdsong and nature away from the crowded town centre but also just a short walk away from it this is the place to be at.

A very unique stay, more of a home-stay kind. Location is amazing, close to market and also a little away from the crowd. Perfect place to unwind and be close to nature Food was also amazing. The owner of this place is very friendly and helping. Overall a great and one of a kind experience. Loved it!

Safety protocols were followed. Location is really good. Peaceful. Food served was delicious. Home cooked food.

Had a wonderful stay here. The place is away from the hustle and bustle of a city. So it's a very peaceful place to enjoy your holidays. Food here was just awesome.

When the host is constantly in touch with you on Whatsapp taking care of your every need, food, choice you know that you are not at The Sandringham Hideout Bnb. It was a homestay and the host Mr. Johar is a wonderful host. So peaceful location. Food was just so yummy with variety as well. 100% recommended to everyone.
