Best experience, in staying at a 300 year old palace, and the hospitality is too good. Worth staying at this property

It is a heritage experience alright, but the quality of almost everything could be better. The space is nice and there are lots of open spaces to sit and relax. Shiv Dutt, the host is very nice. He gives a warm personal welcome and is available on phone for anything one needs. The concern is with the upkeep of the equipments and materials and the food. The shower in the bathroom leaked from wrong places to make it non-usable and the jet washer had poor water flow. There was a lovely old fountain in the room but its outlet was covered with thermocol in a very crude way. The bed cover and curtains seemed cheap and tacky, So was the maintenance of various frames and their contents on the walls of various places, old regal clothes no longer looking attractive, photos which are not even visible. The carpets were worn out. The other problem was with food. They gave us whatever we ordered but it was not good quality. The omlette in the evening was very cold. The Paranthas in the morning were hard/stiff. So overall, one came out with an average feeling. What could have been a fairlytale stay turned out to be a stale stay. Wish they invest some money and effort and up their game.
