SURPRISE ME!

The Statue of Unity is a homage to Vallabhbhai Patel, an important personality in Indian history. I had booked a hotel around 2 hours away from the statue, in Ankleshwar. And for your information, the statue is closed on Mondays.

Finally, I could see the statue when we were less than 5 km away from it. The colossal structure lies next to the Narmada River and the Sardar Sarovar Dam. I was impressed that despite such a great crowd, everything was smoothly managed and there were many amenities for visitors, such as a genuinely priced and spacious car parking lot.
An entry ticket of ₹150 included admission to the statue, a museum, Valley of Flowers and the Sardar Sarovar Dam viewpoint. Along with that, even a shuttle service to all these attractions is included. Please note that carrying your own food is prohibited but there's a food court in the premises.

As you reach closer to the 182-metre tall statue, it starts looking even more enormous. There's a viewing gallery inside the statue, tickets for which are limited so pre-booking is a good idea. And there's a laser show at 7:30 p.m.
A museum lies below the feet of the statue. It's one of the best museums I have ever been to, it's a treat for those who want to learn about the Iron Man of India.

And my experience ended with me travelling back to my hotel to rest.
