Heard of the latest marriage fad doing the rounds on Instagram and raking up on the “popular things to do after marriage” chart? Nope, it’s not a new rock that’s being flaunted or a new designer dress flying off the shelves. It’s called Unimoon – a rather interesting alternative to the regular honeymoon! Piqued up your curiosity, did we? Let’s explore.

Earlier and now too, the trend has always been to splurge on supposedly the most important holiday of your life - honeymoon, to celebrate post-nuptials. Well, not anymore! An online article states that some couples cannot even decide basics of a honeymoon, like choosing the destination and are practically the harbingers of this new phenomenon of unimoons, also called solomoons. Additionally, studies have shown that people agree that they get more out of solo-travel than travelling with their respective partners. But do the experts agree? Researchers state that honeymoons have been known to set in motion three invaluable brain waves for a strong relationship – love, attachment and physical attraction, and people jeopardise their marriage if they don’t want to bring their wedded partners along with them to their own honeymoons.

So what do you think? Are you on-board with this trend of “until honeymoons do us apart” or believe in the old-school model of honeymoon for two?
