For various reasons, New Zealand (NZ) has always been on the top of my bucket list. Not just because of the sheer beauty it exuberates, but mainly due to the fact that it offers something for everyone. From mountains, glaciers, vineyards, geysers to adventure sports, cycle tours, chic boutiques and toothsome food. NZ – God’s own country – truly offers the adventure of a lifetime. Interestingly, the recent announcement by Tourism New Zealand has only increased my desire to fly to this beautiful country. Here's the good news:

Since Australia and NZ will be co-hosting the World Cup 2015 in February and March and are expecting a massive upsurge in tourist traffic, Tourism NZ has decided that any Indian travelling to watch the World Cup will only have to apply for an Australian visa and will get a free New Zealand visa on arrival.

This, however, will be applicable for tourists visiting these two destinations between 26th January and 6th April, 2015.

While this is obviously great news for cricket enthusiasts, for others planning a trip to Australia and NZ during the above mentioned period, it would be a nice idea to catch a World Cup match during their stay. Click here to book your match tickets.

Meanwhile, here are some things that’ll help you decide where to stay and what to do in NZ when not watching the match.

Here’s to a fantastic trip – May India come out victorious in this World Cup!
