SURPRISE ME!
Had to cancel your travel plans? Well, you’re not alone. Many holidays that were planned for this time of the year have been called off due to the unfortunate coronavirus pandemic. If you miss exploring new places during this lockdown, then we have a suggestion for you.
Here’s a list of flavourful dishes from around the globe, that can be easily made in the comfort of your home, to give you some international feels! And anyway, good food is the best company you can have during these times.

An aromatic delight, Thai Green Curry is super-easy to prepare, plus it’s loaded with a lot of greens, making it a healthy option. Impress your loved ones with this quick recipe made with coconut milk and Thai spices. You can either go for a vegetarian (vegan) curry or add some chicken to it too. For a quick fix, you can choose to cook with a ready-made Thai curry paste.
Start by reducing some coconut milk. Make a paste by adding coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorn, green chilies, salt, Thai basil leaves, lemongrass, galangal, kaffir lime zest, cilantro stems, onion, garlic, ginger and salt. Add the reduced milk to this paste and cook the mixture. Add vegetables of your choice along with chicken if you’re going for the non-vegetarian option. Boil the curry a little and add some sugar, a few basil leaves and some lime zest before serving this gastronomical delight with some steamed rice.

Have avocados at home? Prepare this yummy Mexican dip with some ripe avocados and a few basic ingredients, in just ten minutes. You can even make some extra dip to store for future use.
First, mash the avocados till creamy and keep aside. Chop some onions, fresh coriander leaves, green chillies/jalapenos and tomatoes. To this, add some olive oil and salt. Grind the chopped veggies in a mortar & pestle (or simply mix with a spoon). You can even add some lime juice. Lastly, add the avocados to the mix and grind with the rest of the ingredients. And your lip-smacking dip is ready! Serve with some tortilla chips.
A wholesome dish with Mediterranean flavours, Greek Chicken Pasta will surely put an end to all your cravings for something zesty and creamy. The one-dish meal can be cooked within half an hour. Brace yourself for compliments!
First, season the chicken with some salt, pepper, oregano and chilli flakes. Then, boil the pasta as per the packet instructions and keep aside. In a skillet, add some olive oil and then sauté onion, garlic, the seasoned chicken, some veggies (tomatoes and olives) and feta cheese. Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet. Mix well and garnish with some parsley. And, your European dish is ready!

If you have a sweet tooth then try the Italian Gelato Affogato and end your meal like the Italians do, with something “dolce” or sweet. This two-ingredient dessert is super easy to make. All you need for this is: vanilla ice cream and hot espresso. It’ll take only ten minutes to create this gourmet specialty.
In a glass, add a two scoops of ice-cream. Quickly pour hot espresso on it and serve before the ice-cream melts.

Indulge in a classic Japanese dish with a mild sweet flavour! It’s the perfect option for health freaks too as it contains fewer calories than your regular cheesecake. Don’t forget to make enough for the house as one serving won’t be enough for anyone. You’ll need around 2 hours to create this masterpiece, which can be stored in the fridge and consumed for the next few days.
Firstly, warm some butter, cream cheese and whole milk, and whisk till smooth. Little by little, add some cake flour, cornflour, salt, egg yolks and lemon juice. Mix the batter till soft. Preheat the oven at 300 F, spread a parchment paper and grease the base as well as the sides of the dish with some oil. Pour the batter on this dish. Take a bigger baking dish and add some water to it. Then partially immerse the smaller dish in that water and put both the dishes in the oven. Bake at 320 F for 20 minutes and at 285 F for 30 minutes. Turn off the oven and leave the cake for 30 minutes. And it’s ready! It can be enjoyed as it is or with tea or coffee.
