MakeMyTrip’s Content Labs is a test bed to experiment with different types of travel-related content to inspire and engage users to travel. These products will not be ‘perfect’, but we believe the new approach to content that they bring is definitely worth sharing with you. We expect to have a lot of fun making these products, and hope you too enjoy them as much.

The first product to launch under Content Labs is ‘In Lord Rama’s Footsteps’, a visual tour of Rama’s epic 14-year journey through the subcontinent. The journey starts from Ayodhya when Rama’s father King Dashratha sends Rama into exile, and climaxes in Talaimannar in Lanka where Rama slays the mighty Ravana thus symbolising the victory of good over evil.

For this visual tour, we have experimented with Parallax scrolling technology, which uses different backgrounds and foregrounds at varying speeds to achieve subtle animation. This is best viewed on a laptop/desktop.
