The Andamans

India’s answer for an exotic getaway, The Andamans is the perfect sea-side escape to a simpler life. Known for some of the clearest waters in the region, these set of islands attract people for their pristine beauty of the azure waters, the charming underwater life, the adventurous water sports and the sandy sprawling beaches.

Make it Happen

Hotel: Rs.1, 500 per night. There are plenty of budget hotel options in Port Blair. We recommend hotel Port Meridien for a comfortable stay, with a clean environment and basic facilities.

Food: Rs. 500 per day. Food in the Andamans, specially the coastal areas is inspired by the abundance of fresh, delectable sea-food that is easily available. The style of cooking is similar to that of the coastal South-India, and the traditional food is often served on a banana leaf.

Transport: Rs. 5000 by sea. There are frequent ships which reach Port Blair from Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam and Chennai. One can choose between various levels of cabins, but on average, the cost for shared accommodation varies from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 5,000.

Darjeeling

Known world over for its tea, Darjeeling is surrounded by the most scenic hills, and is a great place to capture excellent photos of the valley, the mist, and the sprawling slopes of tea plantations. Don’t miss a ride in the little toy train, and enjoy a tea at Darjeeling’s boutique café’s.

You can head to Lal Tibba, Mussoorie’s highest peak, for spectacular views or shop at La Tibba’s Binocular Point – on a clear day you can see the Himalayan peaks from here. Also visit the popular Mussoorie Lake and Kempty falls to take in some pure unadulterated nature!
