India - world’s largest democracy - has had its share of good and bad in a young age of 66. We as a nation have come past two centuries of slavery, some corrupt governments and many scams. We’ve returned from the peril and prospered. We’ve started from zilch and yet outshone many. We have dreamed, dared and achieved more than what the world thought we could.

Nehru Declaring Independence in Constituent Assembly (Delhi) on August 15, 1947

All of it was possible because all this while some Indians had a vision. They kept the flickering flame alive till it spread the light of hope and achievement in the country.

Talking about visions, ask yourself, do you have one for a better India? Get above the economy, geopolity, community and religion, and ponder. What is your vision for India and what are the actions that you think will lead us there?

Go ahead, tell us your thoughts and innovations in the comments section below (sign in through Facebook). We would like to hear ideas both big and small. Street lights in villages are as important as a permanent seat in the UN Security Council!

Anyone can point out the problems or vent out frustration. This Independence Day, we encourage you to be a harbinger of change…

So, what's your vision?
