Art lovers have another reason to celebrate because Paris’ iconic Louvre Museum is now coming to Abu Dhabi. Sounds exciting doesn’t it! This is a result of a collaboration between France cultural institutions and Abu Dhabi to create a new global centre for the arts and culture.

The Musee Du Louvre in Paris contains some of the world’s greatest masterpiece paintings, sculptures and other works of art. These include the Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, the Venus de Milo by Alexandros de Antioch, the Dying Slave by Michelangelo and the Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione by Raphael. The museum is also home to some of the most stunning high ceiling frescoes dating back to the 17th century.

The planned collection at the Louvre Abu Dhabi will include all-encompassing works spanning the fields of archaeology, fine arts and decorative arts spanning all regions and periods of both historical and contemporary art.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi is slated to open its doors later this year. Yet another reason to visit this fantastic city.
