Munnar Gave Life to the Poet in Me!

No other tourist place have we visited,

With more doubts and hesitations,

Than this one-of-its-kind hill station in South India.

For the monsoon posed a genuine threat,

We feared our expectations might not be met.

The calculated risk however paid off,

As the lovely sights, en route Munnar calmed our doubts.

Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls instantly won our admiration,

How we let our eyes feast on the lush green tea plantation.

Reaching the homestay required us,

To undertake a short trek,

There were many more experiences in-store.

Kundala Lake, Matupetty Dam & Top Station were all worth a visit,

Though shouting my lungs out at Echo Point,

Required more strength and less wit.

Spice Garden and Hydel Park,

Were the highlights of the one before the last day,

The stopover at Chennai Airport was another first,

Moreover, the fellow in the queue turned out to be Sri Lankan,

With whom I briefly conversed.
