National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in and around Leh

Here are a few quick facts about Leh to make your travel safe and easy. Leh is a Hills & Mountains destination. The best time to visit Leh is March, April, May and June. Since this is the peak season expect a little crowd during this time. September, October, November, December, January and February period experiences moderate weather. So, you can easily avoid facing a large gathering.

In peak season you can expect clear blue skies with cold temperatures, around 5°C to 7°C, whereas in off-season, tourists expect landslides and cloud bursts due to heavy rainfall. In moderate seasons, most of the expectation is extremely chilly weather with freezing nights. In Leh, the festivals of Losar, Ladakh Festival, Saka Dawa Festival and Hemis Tsechu are celebrated when a large number of tourists flock together. The festivals are celebrated in the month of December, September, June and July respectively. So, if you are fond of bustling streets and localities, choose this time of the year to travel.

If your travel seems incomplete without getting into some fun activities then you will love to get indulged in sightseeing and the surreal vistas of snow-capped mountains. In moderate season you will love to get indulged in walking on the frozen lakes.
