5 Ways You Can Be a Smart Traveller like Jignesh Aka Ranveer Singh

I’m sure you’ve all seen (or skipped on YouTube) those cute ads featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt about travel hacks that MakeMyTrip offers…in a thoda hatke style.

Love ‘em or hate ‘em, one thing is for certain – the chemistry between the two is sizzling.

Well, the latest ad is here and this time the two are not playing taxi drivers or overconfident studs, but a Gujarati married couple. Since I’m nice, I’m giving you the video link here. Have a look at the video, before we continue further.

Watched it? Good, now let’s critique the ad to know the 5 things to learn from Ranveer Singh aka Jignesh. This ought to be educational.

Jignesh Learns from His Mistakes

Jignesh went through unnecessary cancellation charges three times, as Alia (we could call her what he calls her ‘Baby”, but no) reminds him. That’s a lot of doing the same thing wrong, but hey, he made sure there wasn’t a fourth.

Jignesh might be a little slow, in his cute affable way, but he does get there. Be like Jignesh. Learn from your mistakes. (A bit earlier than three mistakes, if you can help it)

Jignesh Does Not Lose His Cool

That bit where Allia Bhatt and her hairstyle assault Jignesh for messing up the hotel cancellations?

Yeah, it would be hard to take things lying down and keep repose. But Jignesh does just that. Humour disarms people, and Jignesh knows that, and adds his special touch of zest to placate wifey. In travel, there will be plenty of instances where you’ll face frustration. Be like Jignesh. Do not lose your cool.

Jignesh is Resourceful

Dads-in-laws do not a romantic vacation make. But Jignesh knows how to act on call. As soon as he gets the news of “pappa’s” imminent arrival, he whips out his phone and cancels his hotel, this time with no cancellation fee.

Be like Jignesh. Be resourceful.

Jignesh Puts His Partner First

If you have a partner (pity hugs from all my single brothers and sisters out there) try suggesting a romantic holiday to them, and then watch their face wilt in disappointment, then blaze in fury as you drop the bomb that your father/mother/uncle is also coming. Yeah, not a pretty picture, is it?

Jignesh knows that, and understands Alia’s misery when she learns of the elder’s arrival. He just wants to give her the best trip ever, full of plenty of “Aye, Jiggu!” type remarks, presumably. So he does his bit to ensure just that.

Be caring like Jignesh. Put your partner first.

Jignesh Does His Research

(Cue shameless self-promotion. Yes, we love you too)

Finally, Jignesh does his research. He knows that most hotels and travel apps will charge a fee for cancellations. But he has been around on the net, and he knows of the one exception: MakeMyTrip.

See, the guys at MakeMyTrip realized that plans change, and it is only human to not be able to do anything to prevent that. So in order to make their guests’ travel easier on the pocket, they decided to lift the weight of cancellation fee from their shoulders. With MakeMyTrip’s Zero Cancellation Policy, now you can put off that seven-day stay at a Thai resort because Sonu got a cold and can’t go anymore.

Be smart like Jignesh. Do your research.
