Ajmer

The literal meaning of Adhai Din Ka Jhonpra is - the hut of two and a half days. It is one of the oldest mosques in the country and displays a blend of Indo-Islamic architecture.

The Ajmer Sharif Dargah is one of the holiest mosques in India, located in Ajmer. It honours the Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti, whose teachings promoted inclusivity. Built by Mughal King Humayun, this sacred site welcomes people of all faiths, offering a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.

Located in the heart of the city, this artificial lake spread over 13 kilometres was created during 1135-1150 AD by Arnoraja, the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, by damming the Luni River.

Also known as Soniji Ki Nasiyan, Ajmer Jain Temple, stands as a masterpiece of intricate design and devotion, often called the 'golden temple' for its breathtaking interiors. It showcases remarkable Jain art and spirituality.

Commissioned to be constructed in 1570 by Akbar, the fort was used as a resting place by the Mughal emperor during his visits to Garib Nawaz Dargah, to advance his armies and provide residence to his son, Jahangir.
