Diveagar

Located about an hour from Diveagar, Murud Janjira is known for its majestic forts, sandy beaches and rows of palm and coconut trees.

Surrounded by four hills—Harihareshwar, Pushpadri, Bramhadri and Harshinachal—Harihareshwar beach lies on either side of an old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

It is believed that for many years Bagmandala was home to Peshwa, the Prime Minister of Maratha Kingdom. The grandeur of that era can still be witnessed at the old Bankot fort.

Velas is a small fishing village in Diveagar where in the months between February and April, tourists flock to witness the Turtle Festival, organized by the local villagers and conservationists.

Unspoilt and peaceful, Kondivali is one of the most fascinatingly beautiful beaches in Diveagar. The drive may be a bumpy one, but its beauty is totally worth it.

Safe and comfortable for water sports, this is a tranquil and unspoilt black sand beach, where you’ll find plenty of eateries too.
