Vishvanatha Temple

About Vishvanatha Temple History

Chandela King Dhanga of the Chandela dynasty commissioned the Vishvanatha Temple between 999 and 1002 CE. It is built in an architectural style similar to the old Lakshmana Temple and the newer Kandariya Mahadeva Temple. A dedicatory inscription affixed to the porch of the Vishvanatha temple provides information about the temple's construction.
