Rio Grande Residency

I recently stayed at Hotel Rio Grande in Madurai and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located near Meenakshi Temple and the railway station, making travel easy. Rooms were clean and spacious, with good amenities and prompt housekeeping. The staff were polite and cooperative, always ready to help with directions or transport. The in-house restaurant offered tasty South Indian dishes, though breakfast options could be a bit more varied. Parking space and security were adequate. Overall, a comfortable and value-for-money stay — ideal for both family and short business trips.

Bit narrow road, not developed. Food is good. Centralized AC was major issue. No cooling at all. Rest are manageable. AC is basic requirement, to be addressed if I have to select this property next time.

The check in was smooth however the hotel needs to be renovated. The bathroom had a weird smell throughout and the cold water was not available even upon request. The bedsheets were dirty. The staff does not pickup the call at the reception.

bath attachment not maintained. odder smell entering the bathroom. Water bottle 2nos 500ml kept there. early morning 2am requested for water, they provided in the jag.

The service was excellent. Room, A C, Water heater etc. were functioning well. Food is good. Over all we had a very good experience. 👍

Not very good it was ok experience. Lot of mosquitoes, they could have arrange better. Intially room was not good but after checking with makemytrip they changed the room but not at par. Pillows could have been given for kid no pillow overall ambience also i missed not what has been charged.

The cot, the bathroom, ac, furniture everything was horrible. Rooms have no resemblance to those photos shared

Service regarding bathroom and room cleaning were very poor. Bathroom was in shabby condition. Room was without table with only one chair. During three days stay didn't change the towels.

There was no cleaning done after a day no bed sheet change. Need improvement on house keeping part food was good

It's nice property, staff is very polite n helpful. Location is very close to main road opposite famous bus stand if madurai. Food also testy. Suggestion. Need small table in bathroom while taking bath. Old person specially who suffered back bone problem pain can stand for bathing next ten minutes. Else all thing is ok

Secluded place quiet environment. Good parking space and room size is also good. Washrooms are big and have a nice buffet spread for breakfast. Good one for a quick stay.

Insects presence seen in room, we need to wait for breakfast fast till 8 am, foods are with avg level taste, sufficient staffs not available to serve the guests. Good things are sufficient parking space, opp to mattuthavani bus stand, polite staffs.

Stay was good. Cuisine was good. Prime location. At this price point, the other hotels provide in-room kettle-tea-coffee services, shampoo-conditioner at bathrooms, at-least 1 litre of water free of cost per day, and a fridge in the room. None of these are provided at the hotel. The hotel can consider these.

Good property, only thing hot water facility need to be improve

Clean well maintained stay. Spacious room with ac, geyser, tv and also a fan. Missed the room kettle-coffee-tea facility. For this price that would be added. Though located very near the maatuthavani busstand, it is quite calm. No sounds of hussles and bussles.
