This is located in the district of Shivpuri, amidst the lush green region of Chambal in Madhya Pradesh. Stretched across a vast landscape, this is a safe haven for wildlife.
This was a national park but on 9th March, 2025, it was declared as the 58th Tiger Reserve of India. This is the 9th Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh!
Currently, there are 5 tigers here, including two cubs that have been recently born. Two more tigers are being planned to be released into this tiger reserve!
This tiger reserve will act as a critical corridor between Ranthambore and Madhav. Tigers from Ranthambore are known for visiting Madhav National Park by crossing Chambal River.
This national park that has now become a tiger reserve was the prime hunting ground of the erstwhile Gwalior State. During the pre-independence era, dignitaries used to come here.
Other tiger reserves in MP are Bandhavgarh, Satpura, Pench, Kanha, Panna, Sanjay Dubri, Veerangana Durgavati, and Ratapani.
